Judging by the video, it looked too close to the actual thing to be recreated. But i will stand corrected.
Hopefully he’ll have a good mindset and perhaps reintroduce a half-hour local news bulletin in the Spencer Gulf, even if it is on 7two. Then certain communities in the Gulf (particularly rural ones) won’t feel so isolated again.
They need a local voice, in the form of a television news program (which the Spencer Gulf has always been used to), not as short noodle updates fed into ad breaks.
Otherwise, if only noodle updates are the go for Spencer Gulf news going forward, get Seven Canberra to do them. Easy as that.
or Adelaide? use their second studio.
Adelaide don’t have a second studio or even a TOSS - whenever there are guests for Sunrise, etc, they just use the news studio.
I’m surprised they don’t have a TOSS
The best they could do is pre-record an Adelaide news update on the main channel with a Spencer Gulf region backdrop. Similar to how 7NEWS in Brisbane pre-recorded the Brisbane updates with a Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) backdrop for the Gold Coast market.
Yes they do, they have a small studio with a plain screen backdrop, built for Bruce McAvaney to use during Covid when he was stuck in Adelaide but still fronting national coverage. Has also been used for bulletins when they set was getting renovated and occasionally for crosses.
They don’t have a second control room however.
That was a temporary set-up, or they just do what they do for AFL crosses and use the space at the back of the studio - even after 2020 they still use the news set for live crosses.
Yes, they primarily do.
But they have a space it they needed it, is the point, and would make more sense to do it in Adelaide than Hobart or Canberra
Final bulletin from Watchorn Street tonight. No mention on air, but a subtle nod with an aerial shot of the station to close the bulletin.
Wow they’re moving quickly!
Shame that they weren’t able to put a small goodbye package together. Not many stations left that are still operating out of their original HQ.
I agree - surprising given their previous efforts, especially with the effort they’ve gone to for past celebrations.
Even if they just threw some added shots into the Age of Reason tribute for the old set, that would’ve still been great.
On a side note, hopefully the old set gets stored somewhere
Well at least it’s safe for now
Has she started her talk show yet? The IG page was private last time i checked.
Still private.
I didn’t realise that Launceston was the main controlbase for the Tasmanian operations - always thought it was Hobart; so this move will be significant once they build out their new studio.
Fair to assume they may refresh the set slightly (plus implement the current 7 News graphics based on the earlier leak), or just transport it to the new facility?
I know it’s been asked and answered hundreds of times but i can’t be bothered reading thousand of posts so, where are the 10 Local updates filmed? Hobart or Launceston?
