Exactly.
Also quite bold of Prime to air this in Newcastle - an area they pissed off from in 2001.

Don’t forget Canberra, the Illawara, and the Gold Coast who faced the same fate of their local Prime News bulletins.
Well said.
I wonder if the networks ever considered doing a roadblock across all the main and sub-channels in that timeslot?
Certainly across the primary channels Prime, SCA and WIN could have well made their point. Not sure about the logistics in having it across all the multi-channels. That might be a step too far.
I still don’t know what the affiliate groups want? What are they looking for from the government- they never make it clear.
At all
Probably something which is likely to benefit the owners but isn’t necessarily in the interests of viewers, listeners and readers of regional commercial media.
Removal of the minimum voices in a market rule and restrictions on owning multiple licences in the same market.
More consolidation is required to keep the regional players alive (above break even) and maintain the level of regional news output before the next lot of cuts which could well be next year (see how the affiliation negotiations go).
and what does that mean in practical terms, WIN merge with Prime eg?
we don’t really know - they’ve collectively attempted to put forward a proposal to the government that they believe is sustainable but allegedly the Government won’t meet with them
The whole campaign is strange - it’s been borne out of the situation that the government won’t meet with the industry to discuss its future - so they’ve taken it “to the people” so to speak in the hopes that it makes more noise to attract the governments attention. The campaign is full of buzzwords and emotive language but doesn’t really offer anything of substance nor does it really outline what the intention is of the proposed changes
It’s believed that one of the big things the group wants is a change to local news rules that may only require one broadcaster in each licence area to have local news
The group came out against the recent reform measures that were announced saying it didn’t go far enough - they were especially scathing of the restack proposal
Where can I rewatch “The Local Angle” ?

looks as thought win tv is going to air this as well on monday at 6pm on the 28th
I’ve moved to Canberra about a week ago.
One thing I’ve noticed since moving down, 7flix is SIGNIFICANTLY louder on my TV than every other channel. Didn’t have any issues in Townsville, and all other channels are fine in Canberra, but it’s quite startling when flicking channels that 7flix is suddenly at least 15-20% louder than other channels.
Also noticed what I believe were playout timing errors from the 7 Sydney feed.
Noticed an ad at the start of an ad break that suddenly cut blank, then faded into different ads. Then at the end, an ad finished, faded to black and we were halfway through a different ad just before the show returned. Are timing errors common on Prime7?
Yes, I notice this frequently as well. It seems to have only happened when Seven moved their playout to NPC. I believe that it is a combination of the timing error with Prime7 going to break, as well as the fact that with the switch to NPC, the feed that they provide to Media Hub for Prime7 has the Seven commercials in those breaks (rather than black).
From memory I think 7flix via Prime7 uses a different audio codec to the rest of the channels; can’t quite remember the specifics though.
From what I recall, 7flix via Prime7 uses HE-AAC.
Is it common for HE-AAC to come through so much louder, or is that a quirk of my TV?
7flix is far louder than all channels and even all of my HDMI inputs, it’s quite strange.
