Seven (Regional)

Long overdue from being switched off now that all 3 are Network O&O’s.

EDIT: unlikely now that NBN has been sold to WIN, sad. Is a complete waste of bandwidth having duplicate services. Especially with the 2 Network 10 services as they are mirror TVQ10 except for some regional insert local spot buys on the NRN service.

I doubt the regionals will be willing to switch off until the ad revenue they generate from selling local ads (which they can’t/won’t do with their metro Gold Coast feeds) can no longer help cover transmission costs.

Though given the current climate I do think they are fast approaching that position anyway. But until then, they will extract every last cent they can.

Just a question for people in Newcastle, but is it a regular thing for the Broadmeadow Car Centre ad to play 3 or 4 times in ad breaks during The Morning Show on Seven Newcastle?

I noticed recently that the Seven News Regional update intro has been removed from news updates during The Chase in Canberra

It will come and go depending on whether Seven Sydney has a local sponsor billboard for the update, as the opener on Seven Canberra is just covering up the sponsor billboard. You will even see the odd occasion where Sydney runs the billboard after the update and Canberra runs the opener as a closer!

Rob Brough made the right decision to spend time with his family while he could.

Just saw this Western Australian weather update (the style that has music only) included Northern Territory temps. Wasn’t expecting that.

A “The Chase” promo just aired in regional WA.

Had the advertised start time of 5pm when it airs at 4.30pm here.

At this stage, the programming move means the Saturday night episode of Better Homes and Gardens will not be shown in Tasmania at all, with the show not scheduled on 7two on the same night. Fans will have to catch up on the episode on 7plus, or wait for an encore on 7two later in the year.

The schedule has been updated but they didnt correct the program synopis.

Who does 7 regional’s presentation now? Has it moved to the 7+9 JV since Seven purchased prime?

Who did presentation when Prime was still operating? Was it a media hub?

It was MediaHub.

AFAIK it’s still Telstra Broadcast Services. When Prime did a deal with Telstra for distribution, replacing DDA, Telstra sweetened the deal with free presentation, so presentation moved from MediaHub to Telstra.

I’m not sure how many years the agreement is for, but I can’t imagine Seven would be keen to increase costs by moving it over to NPC while they can still get a free service which is meeting their needs.

One caveat. My understanding is the ex-SCA Seven services remain at NPC.

Correct and the programming schedules and all that done directly out of Sydney for ex SCA - all integrated now. ex Prime still completely separate

You mean Melbourne where all Seven Presentation scheduling is still mostly done including from Manilla. That business function did not move to Frenchs Forest in 2019, but everything else mostly did transmission wise.

The sales manager role in albury at seven has been made redundant and will be taken over by a radio sales manager. Also there moving there office from dean street in albury to there offices where triple m and hit fm are in.

These kind of integration changes should be occurring across the country, doesn’t make sense in the days of total tv and cross-platform integration to have separate tv and radio sales managers for markets where a company has both. Ideally these moves should have been completed by now, perhaps a bit slow.

I presume it’s somewhat easier to do it all at the start of the new financial year
