every changes seems to happen on july 1
Concerning affiliation deals, yes. This is completely separate and doesn’t have a specific clock.

It’s fine but without the Winter Olympics starts in x days. Presumably they didn’t want to create a Prime7 version.

It’s from an old Gottaloveit package. Back when the 7 logo was glossy.

Usually the big deals come into effect to coincide with the start of the financial year, which is why 1 July has been the historic deadline. As noted, this case is different as it’s a purchase rather than a supply agreement.

In 1988 Network Ten used the Olympics to launch the new local Ten News in CBR after it had bought CTC (Capital 7 as it was known). The famously short lived X logo came in to replace the Capital Flag (my icon). So, could be a good bet!

Doubtful.
They may not phase them out too early, but yes will happen eventually. Plus, separate differentiation may still be required in overlap areas until what decided if duplicate signals will continue. My guess is the Sydney metro signal will get switched off the NSW Central Coast so as to protect the existing Central Coast split revenue? Would be no loss for the metro relay on Central Coast to be switched off revenue wise? If that were to occur, then a full rebrand to Seven may happen?
And yes, am fully aware Seven only branding is in use on both 7QLD and BTQ signals transmitted from the same towers on the Sunshine Coast. Seven may end up keeping all overlap duplicate signals running with Seven only branding across Prime and GWN overlaps?
The GWN brand is very strong in WA.

So was Southern Cross in Tas but it was gone within a couple of months and doesn’t seem to have had any affect at all on there - even with 7 Tas News promoting the Olympics coverage tonight with a run down of events and saying “and you can watch live on 7 Tasmania and on 7plus” as seamlessly as all the other 7 broadcasts.

That was nothing more than SCA cutting costs. Which also saw fulltime watermarking commence in former Southern Cross Television branded Seven markets, was a sad day. The last FTA channels anywhere in the country that were sans fulltime watermarks.
Sunshine Television was a strong brand too. Not sure 7 will bother doing a lot of re-branding to retain Prime or GWN long term. There isn’t a regional station that has retained all its branding when taken over by a metro network (outside of news in the case of NBN). Channel 8 Darwin, NBN and Sunshine TV spring to mind.

WIN was a very strong brand, it’s mostly gone now now on air and no one seemed to notice.

once prime m,edia or PRT is wound up as a company prime logo on screen be all thats left of Prime it will become obsolete in time it will defiantly get the chop u dont see two different company who merge keep two different names they rebrand their new shop under their name
You would have thought that with NBN when Nine took them over but that was not the case. Over time yes I agree Prime’s branding will disappear but not for a few years. Sunshine Television was in a completely separate situation. It changed it’s name when a hole stack of changes were happening in the middle of aggregation. There is a lot of good will in the name so they will be silly to change it right away.
