Seven News Spotlight

I stand corrected. The article was published first and after seeing the info from TVT, Seven changed their mind. The episode will still air in Perth earlier in the evening.

Well in that case, congrats to David Knox for calling 7 out on their hate campaign!

I don’t know if hate campaign is the right term but I think it all comes down to one phrase: ‘They don’t care’ in regards to which Spotlight episode they want to play. They’ve got a lot in their library yet they decided to choose this one because they just didn’t care as long as it filled the slot.

A hate campaign would be if they deliberately chose this episode to antagonise and divide the audience, doubt it is what’s happened in this case but more so laziness IMO.

Some caps of the studio shots for the repeat of the John Farnham episode that aired last night. Probably not the best quality because they came from 7Plus.

First episode of the year slotted in late on Sunday.

Who Killed Leanne Holland

Sunday 4 February 9:45 pm

The discovery of a 12-year-old girl’s body in bushland, just 8km from her home, shocked a community. Yet, in 2009, the conviction of her presumed murderer was overturned.

Seven trying to spoil an upcoming episode of Under Investigation on the same topic.

UPDATE

A Spotlight credit card was used by an employee, who has since left Network Seven, to book a masseuse for Mr Lehrmann in November, 2022. The credit charge was without the knowledge or consent of executive producer Mark Llewellyn.

The incident prompted attempts by the Spotlight team to reverse the transaction when the employee owned up to using the credit card to pay for the masseuse.

Spotlight producer Steve Jackson, who was not present on the night and did not authorise or have any knowledge of the use of the credit card, then suggested the employee ask the Thai masseuse to reverse the transactions the next day and “pay cash instead” to remove the transaction from the credit card in keeping with the network’s expense policies.

UPDATE 2 25/3

Report on Media Watch last night

“When Seven eventually let him go — nine months after treating himself and, allegedly, Lehrmann to a rub on company money — he was given a glowing reference by Seven and snapped up by Sky News to be its ‘investigations producer.'" #MediaWatch pic.twitter.com/j0JUJ64H6S

Seems like everyone who is getting involved with this guy is being dragged into his murky world.

This won’t end well for 7. Nine did well to keep distance from this bloke. He has way too much baggage.

Serious questions to be asked around some of these networks cultures if these claims are substantiated.
