Seven News (Regional NSW/ACT/Vic/WA/SA/NT)

Yes, but weather graphics still the same

It hurts that they haven’t standardised the NSW/WA intros with the rest of the network

They should follow what they do for Queensland. The Voice of region name sounds tacky.

The Bunbury backdrop proves 7NEWS is actually The Voice of Bunbury.[1]

But if they aren’t their voice, then how are certain communities going to get heard?

Ok, are you just trolling at this point? Not one person in those regions would care that “hey, the Prime Local News/Golden West News changed it’s slogan and is no longer our voice, it must be Sydney/Melbourne/Perth news, let’s watch the other channel!” They will still be heard because it is the same news.

Oops, I should’ve added a footnote!

Something a bit unrelated but I was actually meant to do my uni placement with the 7News regional in the Canberra office I went and visited them on the Friday and had all the paperwork done then got the call on they Tuesday by the Director of Regional News saying that I could no longer do my placement because of a internal restructure and the fact it would take longer than 6 weeks to train new journos so too time consuming.

Seems to me Seven is probably sacking more of their reporters in a bid to save money, am I right? If so, that’s absolutely disappointing news. Sorry you had to experience that. Try WIN News, they have an office in Canberra and they may have a spot for you.

Seen the 7 News ad with connecting you with the regional presenters.

I’ve not seen that 7NEWS ad, but I hope @captaincupcake has recorded it.

Bit of a long bow to draw just because they’ve had to cancel someone’s work experience?

I will have to go through my recordings and see if I have it. Might take me a couple of days though as I’ve got a few things on the go right now.

We get the Melbourne version in Tasmania… go figure.

I’ve just found it. Saved you time trying to find it yourself @captaincupcake.

Here’s that promo for those interested.

5 regional NSW markets with a local news bulletins?

Are they counting Albury in the NSW markets or are they considering Taree and Tamworth separately?

Or is it a marketing spin by 7 to try and make it sound like 7 is covering all of regional NSW?

Sub-markets are probably a better reflection. Tamworth & Taree are in the same market, as are Wagga and Orange

Five. Albury (Border), Wagga Wagga (Riverina), Orange/Dubbo (Central West), Tamworth (New England) and Taree/Port Macquarie/Coffs Harbour/Lismore (Coastal).

Tamworth and Taree get separate bulletins as does Wagga Wagga and Orange/Dubbo.
