Seven News Presenters and Reporters

I’d prefer Angie on Friday Morning/Afternoon news and Weekend Sunrise over Sally Bowrey. But I guess she won’t be moving anytime soon considering she’s got weekday Sydney weather for the timebeing.

Based on how much Ann’s been away recently, who’s to say she hasn’t already retired and just chosen not to make a big fuss about it?

For someone who has been at Seven for decades, that would be quite unusual if they departed the Network with no fanfare or prior Press Release, so I would say it’s highly unlikely.

A different comparison would be meteorologist David Brown, who went on leave as announced during the Sydney bulletin, but is suspected to have left the Network.

I’d say Ann will be back soon at some point.

Is this really an appropriate comment to make?

Indeed. Don’t think we’ve heard anything from Brownie since his final forecast about six months ago, although at least he made some acknowledgement of his departure from the role on-air.

Remember Sarah Cumming? I know she probably would’ve departed the network (certainly Sydney at least) by now regardless, but five years ago Sarah very well might’ve learnt that her role at Seven was changing after seeing the “David Brown’s Weather” promos on TV!

Yep, I agree.

Even though Ann Sanders seems like the type of person who comes across as being relatively quiet off-camera (eg, no major social media presence to the best of my knowledge) I think when the time comes, Seven News would do some form of on-air farewell for her.

it’s obviously wrong, but what’s inappropriate?

No, she would have been told.

That last paragraph is what’s making me think she’s done something similar to Brownie. She said in an interview that she never really aspired to be a newsreader, so that coupled with her lack of social media presence indicates to me that she isn’t somebody who would choose to seek attention if she decided to call it quits.

And I am aware that my comments were probably not in the best taste. I will endeavour to keep those thoughts to myself in future.

Lol, literally last week you called her colleague a wanker.

Nothing wrong with the comment, if only speculative.

Nice to see Christie Cooper back reporting in the Melbourne newsroom, I didn’t realise that she had returned.

There seem to be some new (and returning) faces in Melbourne. Aside of Sean Sowerby have any of the other reporters left recently?

Laurel Irving. She quit the Melbourne newsroom just before Anzac Day last month to become deputy director of media at the Victorian government’s Suburban Loop Authority.

Thanks. I didn’t realise she’d gone. I liked her, and I was so glad she got back to Melbourne from her year in the UK just before covid hit.
