Last week’s Inside Mail column has some insight on who the rising stars of the Sydney newsroom are.

At Seven, we hear reporter Liam Tapper is one developing star who has caught the eye of newly minted news boss Anthony De Ceglie and, in a sign he could soon be destined for a rapid career rise, his name has been added to the survey for the first time.
Sources tell us there is already banter along mahogany row at the network’s South Sydney bunker about a potential future pairing between Tapper and prized young presenter - and one-time Miss World Australia - Amber Laidler.
Other hot prospects at Seven whose scores are being closely monitored include Tom Sacre, Angelique Opie and Amelia Brace.
