Abbey Gelmi is now on maternity leave for the second time. She was presented with flowers at the end of tonight’s bulletin.

IMO I think it will be Theo Doropoulos - he’s been used a lot lately and I wouldn’t be surprised if it is him.

It’s only a maternity leave cover - doubt they would get either back for only a few months - Jacqui also has 3AW Drive Monday-Friday, so I doubt she would want to work seven days.

Let’s be honest, it’s a fairly minor weekend role, and going into summer with presenters taking leave, I doubt we’ll see a permanent replacement, it will probably just be whoever is available on the given night.

Looks like Paul Kadak might be Ben Downie’s replacement in Canberra (or at least filling in the gap) - he did a report from Canberra this morning, and did a report on last night’s news as well about the HECS changes.
