Some footage was shown during last night’s Melbourne bulletin.
@secretshopper
Katrina just said “join Max at 6.00” so he can’t be on holidays?
Could’ve just been a weekend getaway.
Could be a mistake.
He’s definitely presenting the 6pm news.
Monday 30 September -
Sonia Marinelli presented weather from Melbourne Royal Show tonight.
She also did the weather from the showbag pavilion last night.
Its been a few weeks with the Mark Ferguson and Angela Cox duo began. On the most part, its been good.
When reading the news together, its good. Its the so called banter which annoys me, for some reason. Fergo doesnt add much, but nods, smiles and moves on (which i like). But Cox’s been slightly more animated than what she used to be with Usher. Just tone it down a little. McLaughlin is still the same old “nervous” type during the banter.
Fergo has never co-anchored before, has he? So this is all new to him. I’m sure he’ll loosen up in time (if he gets that time…)
According to Mediaweek, Tim Watson said on SEN breakfast today that he would make an announcement on Thursday.
About his own future, Watson didn’t have any news early today. “I will have an announcement to make on Thursday,” said Watson. Watson noted this is his last week on air this year at SEN 1116.
A few limited times filling-in on the Today Show back in the day.
They also worked together well before the started reading together and had an established rapport. I wouldn’t put it past De Ceglie or Power to have told her to be more animated as part of the new direction.
Does it not make him look worse?
gunning for a gig on ACA old mate Geof?
Maybe the hope was that it would loosen him up? Like, Mush can move between light and shade and we’ve seen that when he does Sunrise and even the panel on The Latest. Perhaps the hope was she could help Fergo do the same.
I can’t say it was a good move, but I can see it being the directive.
And it’s been a number of weeks since Sharyn left 7 Brisbane. While he really needs a co-presenter, full credit to Max Futcher. He’s been doing a pretty solid job reading solo.
Certainly the directive. But is it a good idea to not only make him do more of something they are admitting he isn’t good at, but also to pair him with someone that shows him up in this regard. They chose to keep him there, they are going to have to make it work. It’s also not a talk show.
Wednesday October 2, 2024: Matt Doran presenting Sydney’s 4pm News today, confirmed by Karina in the 2pm update
This is significant news. I don’t think Matt has presented a bulletin since joining 7News.
I’m glad! I’m a big fan of Angie on the Weather, but reading the news…
