Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2020-Feb 2025)

Nightly co-presenter out.

Let’s just say “This is 7 News with Max Futcher”

Who? And replaced or single presenter now?

Single presentation now.

Wow. So Sharyn let go from 7?

Surely Nine will snap her and replace Mia on weekends?

If anyone was the weakest link surely it would be Max than Sharyn?

Huge news if Sharyn is out!

I would have kept Sharyn over Max.

Good lord. Sharyn is a class act. What an absolute shame.

Maybe 10 will snap her up if they’re rumored to be exploring options to go local in Brisbane again?

Is this budget cuts or an attempt to win ratings? I don’t see how removing Sharyn can beat Nine?

Wow. This is huge if so. Massive loss for Seven.

Stupid idea - Sharyn was at least the longer serving one, and had more credentials (worked on Today, national nine bulletins) than Max.

Clearly a cost cutting move, since Sharyn would be paid more.

Remember everyone - if Seven had kept Rod and Kay on weeknights, and moved Sharyn and Bill McDonald to weeknights after they retired, Seven wouldn’t be stuffed in Brisbane.

You would have to think it was budget related. Though the potential negative impact on ratings of 6pm bulletin and then as a lead in to the rest of the night might totally backfire if they can’t generate as much income.

Will Gold Coast be next and then QLD regional?

Surely Max and Samantha have no chance against Andrew, Melissa and Mia?

Not a chance. Seven will however say they are Queensland’s Number 1, which is true because all the regional bulletins rate through the roof each night.

From the article:

Sharyn Ghidella , a highly regarded figure in Australian journalism, is set to leave her position as newsreader for Channel 7 in Brisbane . The move is abrupt, with Ghidella not expected to deliver an on-air farewell to her audience.

Nine will now continue to trump Seven at 6pm.

Wonder if they regret spending on the new studio. The big desk is going to look even more barren now.

No farewell. Effective immediately.
