Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2020-Feb 2025)

Could be that they recorded it just for the app?

I’ve noticed that there is a lot more Instagram made reports on 7News Adelaide’s Instagram page, instead of posting clips from the morning and afternoon news.

Could be part of their digital push?

I know exactly what you’re talking about, 7 use random screen caps of bulletins past as the thumbnail on 7 plus it’s very random…

Even with Adelaide, the title card for the live stream still has Jane Doyle (who left 18 months ago), and there was a few times John Riddle would appear on the thumbnails for the Adelaide bulletins after leaving.

They have a library that rotates for news thumbs. And noone from 7plus keeps across staff changes, so you have reporters and presenters who have left still showing up. It’s a bizarre way if running your streamer, but its what they do.

I doubt it would be that difficult to create a thumbnail as part of the process they would use to convert the stream so it can be used on 7 Plus and save it into the database to show for that individual video. I am sure they do something similar for their VOD content.

Of course not, but they don’t. I’d even just use the generic show thumb. But :man_shrugging:

Chris Reason in 1991

Chris Reason was with the only television crew to capture the notorious arrest of Jack Karlson that took place outside a Brisbane Chinese restaurant over 30 years ago, ahead of the release of a new film about the incident also featuring Chris.

What is the charge?

Sorry, I don’t believe 7 were the only crew there. Nine and Ten also filming and appeared on all 3 commercial channels that night. If you look close enough, there are several camera angles on the You Tube footage.

“Yes I’ve been sacked and there will be more to say about that in the appropriate forum at the appropriate time,” Ovadia told The Australian.

Ovadia engaged high-profile lawyer John Laxon to represent him in the matter.

A Seven spokeswoman would not comment.

I am sorry to see him go. Rob was one of their most experienced reporters and anchors. Hopefully another network picks him up.

if he has, as has been alleged, been involved in inappropriate conduct, then good riddance.

That leaves only the two Chris’es (Maher and Reason) and Paul Kadak as the remaining survivors from the Ross Symonds/Ann Sanders era still at ATN.

Yes, there’s also Kylie Gillies, though she moved to The Morning Show in 2007.

…on air, probably plenty of producers and cammos still around.

Don’t forget though, the Ross Symonds/Ann Sanders era ended 21 years ago.

Everyone makes mistakes and some get given a second chance somewhere eg Cameron Williams. He’ll just need to bide his time for a while.

The fact Ovadia has called in a lawyer suggests there is more to the story as well.

Given Seven’s track record, they could just throw him on SAS or DWTS as a contestant…
