After not being on air at all during Goodings’ first at week, Mike eventually returned to do the local daytime bulletins. However, as he only does the same days on these bulletins as before, they still need Elspeth to do them Thursday to Sunday. So, Mike is now presenting fewer days than before and I am unsure if that means he’s been on the road more or even at all.
The weirdest thing, though, is that when Jane has been away, only Rosanna fills-in for her (when previously both her and Mike would cover weeknights), which dismisses claims that Mike is taking over Jane or that they are planning on putting the new weekend duo on weeknights. It’s all a bit odd.
He might like having less days? It is becoming more common for 3/4-day work weeks in the industry, with Peter Hitchener, David Koch, Livinia Nixon and more having less than 5-day work weeks.
What a nice surprise to have Mike and Bec presenting in Melbourne tonight.
