not at all
Let’s not forget Jacqui’s role reading Afternoon News changed when Mike Amor returned going from 5 days down to 2 days reading Afternoon News.
Then when Bec returned she was off the Afternoon News completely, regulated to sport presenting only.It was very obvious when she and Bec were at the desk that there wasn’t any rapport between them. But she seemed to get along with Mike Amor very well on air.
I wouldn’t be surprised we will see her popping up on other networks working freelance in the future.
Most likely Andrew McCormack or Laura Spurway will be her replacement presenting sport on weekends.
This could be a case of Seven not renewing her contract, given her only on-air role was weekend sport and they can easily get someone else to do that who comes cheaper.
Nonetheless, Jacqui’s a big loss and I’m sorry to see her go.
Everyone is saying Bec, but I would put it down to contract negotiations breaking down. Seven may have put forward a lower deal than what she was previously on… and she’s walked. Hence why it’s so sudden.
or could it be she genuinely wants to spend more time at home with her children???
Or she’s signed to a competitor and they put her on gardening leave!
Big loss for 7, Jaq is hot property in Melbourne at the moment with a big local social media following and getting airtime on breakfast radio.
Coming off Olympics coverage it is definitely unexpected.
If she was jumping ship they wouldn’t have let her go on-air tonight to say goodbye.
True… but she most likely wouldn’t have gone on air tonight if that was the case. Nine may see her as a potential replacement for Bec?
She is the go to across social media for news related stuff that’s for sure! Especially during COVID. Everyone I know always discusses how they saw her share news etc
Shes a great talent. Hopefully we see her somewhere shortly.
Before Jacqueline’s decade at Seven, she was a reporter at Nine News Melbourne as Jacqueline Freegard.
Yeah we know…
So it is possible she will return to Nine.
If I could laugh react to this I would haha
I was never a fan. She wasn’t very warming to me. And her covid comments on socials, which some of you are raving about, were not always good nor appropriate.
Herald Sun reporting that Jacqui is still in discussions with Seven as to whether she will continue presenting Footy Central updates in the AFL coverage and as co-host of the Brownlow.
Being handed some flowers after the sign off following 10 years at Seven is slightly better than some have got, but not much. Nice words from Mike though.
They weren’t comments.
She was the one on social media posting updates, helping people in need, brining attention to areas that needed it. Notably her instagram stories weren’t about her being all vein and self absorbed like a lot of others. She used them for good. Letting people ask questions about the ever changing restrictions, she tried to answer as many as she could. More recently sharing where people could get RAT tests daily.
That’s what we are talking about.
Ur opinion of the posts. Which differs from mine.
