Seven News Melbourne producer (and former reporter) Georgia Love tested positive as well.
Katrina’s absence explained. So maybe Seven have a policy that you need to return a negative PCR to return to work, even if you have a negative RAT?
It’s not a Seven policy. If you have symptoms you get a PCR, no question about it.
RATs should only be used to detect asymptomatic cases.
Don’t want to get into it too much because it’s not the right thread, but it’s not that simple. People are waiting hours and hours in testing queues for a PCR test, and for some people results can take up to 5 days or even more to come back.
I know of lots of symptomatic people who get a positive RAT but aren’t going to bother with PCR because it’s just a waste of time.
Then in Katrina’s case, she wouldn’t be going to work.
Most media companies, and likely other businesses, now stipulate you need a negative PCR test to return to work.
An example is Buzz the anchor from Nova Brisbane breakfast:
And this has now all changed this afternoon after federal cabinets meeting today.
Jane Bunn is currently in isolation so Sonia is back filling in for her this week.
I’m not a fan of double header news bulletins but it has resulted in Bec returning to Seven which is good news, she was always one of my favourite newsreaders.
The rumors were that Maddern and Felgate didn’t get along…. Interesting photo.
