He was probably more on the sensationalist side but I didn’t think he was particularly right wing compared to the likes of Robert Ovadia etc.

Robert Ovadia is nowhere near right-wing when you look at some of the questions he’s posed to the NSW Government at media conferences during the pandemic.
Perhaps on other issues he might lean to the right, but hardly extreme right wing.

More leaked emails from the Melbourne newsroom have made their way to Page 13 of the Herald Sun, this time a ‘reply all’ from news director Shaun Menegola, telling colleagues to disregard Nathan Templeton’s email and “take Georgia’s note as it was intended - feedback to make a top bulletin even better.”

Can’t speak for this reporter, and probably unlikely given they’re in Adelaide but I know of a few in the media who have simply been worn down by the last 18 months of Covid-centric news.

Maybe the toxicity can be attributed by the fact that they have been No.2 for so long and the overheads are frustrated that they’re not gaining traction?
Though it also sounds like some egos need to be brought down a peg or two in that newsroom, especially the management.
