And such a young bunch of reporters in Brisbane.

The Brisbane desk was a bit crowded tonight. A case of extreme product placement.

Minor blooper at 0:50 when the Seven News theme begins to play mid-report.

Brisbane News tonight. The weather was cut short with closing graphics showing over the report, audio fading out and Kendall abruptly ending the bulletin. It seemed as though the weather was prerecorded because the usual image of the TV screen at the end of the bulletin was missing.

Likely a timing issue. Last week, they ran so much over that after the surf report, Paul didn’t do the hand-back and Katrina only had time to say “Goodnight”. So, this week it seems they weren’t risking it and cut Paul off mid-sentence (presumably after ignoring the “hard wrap” warnings).

Why? It looks so shit. Surely the camera would be set up for the screen’s refresh rate!

Slowly getting there…just need to fix the angle up a bit and figure out a wide shot for the transition (otherwise they might as well just use the green screen). Maybe more will be revealed at 6pm.

Edit - Just noticed Angie taking full advantage of the change with that dress!

It’s just a pity that after being there for 4-5 years and mostly having to stick to a green screen while the other networks had long moved onto entirely video screen-based forecasts (which IMO is a far better way of doing things since it allows for better interaction between presenters), we won’t get to see David Brown present a Sydney 6pm forecast from this screen!
