I don’t know the answer to that.
Sorry… I know its not meant to come off this way, but a Channel 7 “media report” slamming Channel 9 just comes across as propaganda. And reporting cut backs and staff changes when 7 did the same thing only months ago? Come on.
Agreed - look forward to similar commentary on ch 7 shows
So out of “fairness” you want Rob to mention/ report on something that happened months ago at 7 VS current news that is happening behind the scenes of Today, now?
This truly is an “Unstoppable” ad campaign
This is truly car crash TV at its worst.
What are Seven thinking?
I think this pic from @TV.Cynic pretty much sums up the current state of 7news
The words in the promo could say anything really. It is just flashing red , black an white at the viewer. It’s sort of meaningless; more like a reminder to watch 7News but with no reason given!
I don’t think so. He just thinks it’s what people want but it’s really not. The guy has no clue. Back to his crypt he goes.
Hate to admit it, but i actually glanced at my horoscope tonight.
That looks absolutely awful graphically. Why is the 7 News logo just plonked there in unreadable red?
100% agree, by all accounts it was a particularly toxic environment even for shows of its kind. Complete lack of compassion and empathy.
That’s not what @tv_lee said at all. More that it’s kind of a bad look for something so heavily 7-branded to be slamming what Channel 9 does.
If they didn’t cover Channel 9, then it would’ve looked more bad on them. The Today show ratings is relevant and topical.
Is worser a word?
All I’m saying is the exact same thing happened at the organisation he works for. He doesn’t have to do anything. I’m merely pointing out that for an “inside media” segment, that makes it seem very one-sided. You can do it, but it doesn’t feel right.
And at the same time makes 7 look good. Propaganda. Again…you can do it, but feels off.
I have to agree. The segment felt very hand-washy of the Jeremy Kyle situation and boiled down to “it’s not TV’s fault that they brought an individual with a history of instability on their show to gawk and mock him on national telly for views, then he ended his life”.
Even application for MAFS was leaked earlier this year and filled with questions designed to find people who had toxic traits and would stir up drama.
Unfortunately this kind of reductive and reactionary stuff isn’t anything new for McKnight - everyone else is always at fault, no room for reflection, ever.
It’s a little strange that Seven has greenlit this after a year + of reporting into their internal culture and their habit of being the place for washed up dodgy men. It could be seen as a bit of a threat to competitors? eg we have dirt on you too?
Seven Melbourne broadcasting a local bulletin after the debate. Mike amor presenting.
