That seems lazy for a number one rating news bulletin. That shot of the news and sport presenter looks pretty community tv.
Not that the average viewer cares, but presentation is presentation.
I mean the staffing levels at Adelaide are probably a quarter of what there is in Melbourne or Sydney which means they don’t have the options they could do.
clearly they don’t, as you have pointed out…
So if it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Far from community TV. I doubt they have access to giant videowalls.
It may be the smallest market but it looks miles better than Perth.
I’d hate to see your assessment for 10 News First Adelaide ![]()
Liam also did the news during TMS.
I’m picky, it was just that particular shot that irks me from a presentation perspective. It seems more awkward on air.
Thinking more as a standard for seven than say 10’s set up. But it is perfectly fine as is.
If I were in a role studio production role there myself (which I am not lol) it would just be something I’d consider implementing. They seem to get away with making it ‘appear’ more solo for the odd national update or bulletin.
And yes they are MILES ahead of Perth, who truly drag down presentation standard ![]()
Gertie is a great presenter.
Does Adelaide always have shocking audio quality? Or is it only during the midday news?
To me it doesn’t sound any different, although that might be due to me being use to it since I live in Adelaide and watch the 6pm news
Sounds fine during 4pm local, just on midday news sounds like it’s coming from a cave. Echo
Might have something to do with where they’ve put the green screen
Seems to be a big design flaw given it’s a purpose built space
So why bother with presentation at all? Sydney, Melbourne, Brissy are clearly wasting their money on nice sets and graphics, seeing as no one notices any of it. I’m sorry but I really don’t buy this argument. No, your average viewer might not notice consciously, but sets, graphics, music, all have some impact. Okay, it’s more subconscious than conscious, but it all has an effect on how the product is perceived.
My point was that it’s #1 so whatever they are doing presentation-wise is working.
Is it working? Or is it just #1 because people watch out of habit? Okay the pres isn’t egregiously bad like Perth but to assert that the pres must be good as the product rates is probably incorrect.
