Seven News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

I also think the fact it was produced out of Melbourne (when it was being presented by David Johnston, then Bec Maddern) between 2003-06 was part of HSV’s long-term plans to take on the unbeatable force that was GTV, eventually overtaking them in 2007 (even if only by just).

That national bulletin (which didn’t have a sports segment) also gave weatherman David Brown a national profile as well.

To the present, I think Seven should stick to local afternoon news for now.

Though I think the one that came out of Sydney, Seven 4.30 News, wasn’t as good. Eventually with Samantha Armytage wasn’t it, sort of 2007, once Mike Amor returned to the USA and the former also took over from Lisa Wilkinson alongside AOK on WS. I’m sure was still a top rater, but probably more thanks to the wider network and everything else starting to win, rather than that bulletin itself.

Soon as production returned to Sydney with Mike Amor ratings began to slip.

The local afternoon editions we see today are a completely different product to the 4.30 News with David Johnson.

Is the 6.57pm news still going or on break over the holidays?

Not at the moment - Humphries is currently on a tour (War on 2024 Annual Comedy Gala).

But fingers crossed it isn’t coming back.

Thanks.
I wasn’t able to locate it.

That’s what I commented on in 2023. TP UK was what started 9’s dominance in the afternoon, then 5pm, now into 6pm.

Has this new promo aired?

Only promo seen so far

“Why 2025 is set to be [insert city name]'s biggest cruising year ever.”

Truly some hard-hitting unstoppable news here 7.

Don’t know why they put the every night slogan there

Same reason they put Seven News and Sunrise in the upfronts. To pretend like it will totally get the axe anytime soon.

Again:

Because their late-night counterpart isn’t?

It’s been 4 months yes?

I don’t think we’ll see it return in 2025.

Almost 5, which is apparently the minimum they were going to stick with it for.

Clearly it’s added nothing to the Friday bulletin.

From my understanding, ratings have fallen in all markets.

Is it just me or have they really gotten the emphasis wrong on this title card? Surely 2024 YEAR IN REVIEW is the key phrase over THE SEVEN below a 7News logo? The whole thing is just bizarre.

Hard to understand, but the name of the show is The Seven - whatever that means.
