7News will not air until 7:15pm in Melbourne tonight due to AFL finals.
As well as 6:45 Adelaide and 5:15 Perth.
What desk are they standing in front of? Is it a full OB?
The afl desk
I liked how tonight’s Melbourne news had Rebecca co-hosting at the MCG for the footy stuff and Mike back in the studio for the rest of the news. Abbey there for sport made sense, obviously. It seemed to work well.
I think Bec should have just done sport. There was no need for Abbey.
Why does 7 call all their AFL stuff Inside AFL?
It’s a promo thing. They’re the only ones inside the afl stadiums. 9 and 10 aren’t allowed in.
But they also do it for stuff outside? They had some player manager meeting with vision from a Melbourne street.
Yeh cause it’s a brand. Like ‘inside word’
It’s just a name.
Why do they call it “7NEWS Spotlight” when they don’t even present it under a spotlight? “Landline” isn’t presented on a landline telephone, “The Drum” doesn’t feature a drum kit and it isn’t even about music.
11/10
Clearly not to do with location but more along the lines of inside knowledge.
Thanks Captain Obvious. Your examples are all stand alone TV shows.
Inside AFL is a brand within an existing brand. What is it actually promoting?
There is no Inside AFL TV Show. Nothing pops up when you Google Inside AFL. If other media take the vision, there is no branding on what Inside AFL is or where it originally aired. It stands no purpose.
To watch Inside AFL you watch 7NEWS. Just call it a 7 Exclusive or drop the on screen clutter if it isn’t an exclusive. Calling it 7 Sport would be more effective.
Rude, but ok…
It’s an “inside look” at the AFL. Only instead of calling it something generic like “7 Exclusive” they decided to theme the name for the AFL. That’s all it is buddy.
I don’t get what’s not to get here?
Anything that is AFL has been “7 Inside AFL” for years. Its meaning is that because 7 are the rights holder they have exclusive access to the grounds and they tout because of this, (having the rights) they have the “inside scoop” on any news items that surround the afl. Therefore “INSIDE AFL”
So it’s a play on words that it’s news from “inside the AFL”.
I agree it’s a ugly but that’s the rationale behind it.
Sniping at Nick when it’s been explained, what I thought quite clearly is unnecessary and rude.
In Sydney, it went until approx 3.35pm.
