Sydney, Brisbane and Perth will have Highway Patrol at 7.30 and World’s Angriest at 8.30. Both are listed as new episodes on online guides.
If that’s correct, it should perform well for Seven in those markets (certainly better than anything else besides AFL Seven have aired so far on Thursdays).
It obviously means Melbourne and Adelaide will have to have them air on another night? Doubtful. Perhaps hold them off until another month or so?
Because there’s 5 Thursday AFL games in a row from next week.
Personally, seeing how popular Highway Patrol is every year, Seven should have held off for a period later this year where it’s againt lesser competition, to hold its strong ratings (i.e.) it’ll be against MasterChef.
Why? They should just air the Sydney schedule on 7mate in Melbourne and Adelaide.
Pretty sure Seven will have promised advertisers highest rating possible (i.e.) main channel.
New eps (first run) of Highway Patrol have never aired on multi-channels.
That’s true of any show. They still have to air something even if does go up against a high rating show.
My response was to a post about Seven possibly airing new Highway Patrol eps on 7mate (for example), so Melbourne and Adelaide won’t fall behind other markets.
But I don’t think Seven have ever done or will do that.
Might just have to save them for those markets until after Thursday Night AFL games finish in 6 weeks?
Or bump a show on another night?
Or up against Masterchef
Seven has the Thursday 25 May episode of Highway Patrol listed as a repeat.
Is it really a big deal? They can rerun those episodes on the main channel at a later date and most viewers won’t know or care they missed the initial screenings. It’s not like a drama series where there is an ongoing storyline. I’d be extremely surprised if there is some contractual clause saying they must premiere on the main channel - we’re talking about a cheap factual.
New food and travel show A Moveable Feast, based on the 3AW program of the same name, premieres Sunday June 4 at 5.30pm on Seven in Victoria (when there is no AFL on FTA on Sunday afternoons due to mid-season byes) according to today’s Sunday Herald Sun. The 6-part series will be hosted by Ross Stevenson and Kate Stevenson like the radio version. Kate is a producer of 3AW breakfast with Ross and John Burns, but is not related to Ross.
