Interesting that in most states, the Australia v India women’s ODI on Thursday December 5 will have a three-hour screening on 7mate while the rest of the match will be shown on the main channel. Why not just show the whole match on 7mate?
Also, the second women’s ODI on Sunday, December 8 will overlap with men’s cricket test for most of the afternoon. This will also affect radio coverage on both ABC and SEN - but more on that next week.
With the First Test over, here is Perth’s schedule for tonight and tomorrow that will probably end up being what is shown across the network.

LCN 70 EPG in Melbourne (7HD Melbourne) has been updated live to “FORCE - BEHIND THE LINE, THE” (but if you click the Guide button “Test Cricket” is still there).
Also imagine on-air presentation such as promos and PRGs will be absent and ad line-ups potentially wrong. Except for Wa markets.
If they are using the Perth schedule, wouldn’t they have promos ready to go? Would just be a case of copying the Perth schedule (i.e. promos, graphics, etc), and inserting local ads.
I’m also guessing Seven bosses, not sure how Foxtel would feel, wouldn’t be overly happy with a one-sided thrashing and early end (including two prime times and an entire day wiped) for the First Test of the summer, also having lost last night’s ratings to Nine and Nine’s comparatively strong final survey and first summer week of programming vs Seven’s random overseas factuals and movie re-runs.
Yes but you have to treat it like there could still potentially be play. Carey was protecting Hazlewood from strike, not even taking a single in the end there, I’ve seen hours go by with a single wicket remaining before.
And it’d have to have been ingested per market and timing specifics with other promos, pres elements, ads, etc which I doubt can be done at the very last minute nor at the touch of a button. Let alone the appropriate department or handful of staff trained to do so at the drop of a hat.
True. I did actually just see a Kingsman movie promo for tomorrow on 7mate in Melbourne after 7pm during Pawn Stars, so Seven at least thought Day 5 certainly prime time was highly unlikely.
That is one of the disadvantages of cricket rights - it is very vulnerable to early finished and weather interruptions. Seven previously complained about weak visiting teams causing early finishes but they can’t use that excuse this time.
Join the fight against food insecurity in Australia with OzHarvest Unite to Feed Australia Live, a special concert event aiming to provide meals for Australians in need, airing 7.30pm Tuesday, 3 December on Channel 7 and 7plus.
Celebrating OzHarvest’s 20th anniversary and shining a light on Australia’s food waste crisis while raising crucial funds, the evening will be hosted by Better Homes and Gardens presenter Johanna Griggs and comedian Jimmy Rees.
This unique event will bring together some of Australia’s best-loved artists, with unforgettable performances by Daryl Braithwaite, Human Nature, Conrad Sewell, Danielle Spencer, Courtney Act, Lior, William Barton, Felix Riebl (The Cat Empire), Dylan Wright, Tierney Brothers, Air Land Sea, William Crighton, Jess Hitchcock, Emmanuel Kelly, Fanny Lumsden, and the Sydney Street Choir.
Special guest Sir Bob Geldof will share his insight into the power of music, 40 years on from Live Aid, while OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn AO will detail the current challenges Australians are facing with food security.
“This is more than a concert, it’s a call to action and every dollar raised will enable us to deliver two meals to someone in need. The concert aims to raise crucial funds to provide two million meals for Australians struggling to make ends meet,” she said.

Watched tonight’s Force re-run, now has a disclaimer spliced at the beginning of the old masters, similar to John Deeks’ old one they use for 7mate’s Highway Patrol (though this one has the newer v/o):
And the old mid-late 2000s split-screen program ender, tweaked around 2010 IIRC to remove the moving ‘gloss’ animation, still seen here on this S8 (2013) episode. Would change to the current black one later this season and be tweaked again from S9 (2014), though I recall some shows changing to it from about 2012:
The show also saw graphics tweaks around 2011 and 2016 IIRC, when Lyndall Marks (long time 7Factual EP replaced Dan Meenan as head of the department - not even sure if Seven still have a dedicated ob doc team).
I doubt they would - the only shows they produce in house these days outside of news and sport are Home and Away, Better Homes and Gardens, and a hand full of local lifestyle shows.
Highway Patrol has seemingly been renewed, as evidenced by first runs the last couple of years or so, however that’s produced externally by Cordell-Jigsaw Zapruder (via Greenstone - who are NZ based).
Are Seven still making first run Border Security, that’s probably the only other one in-house being produced.
It’s longevity is astounding! Shouldn’t it be season 21 though (2004)? Maybe there was 4 years, whether concurrent or separately Seven didn’t order any filming. COVID?
Really? According to the website of Perpetual Entertainment (which most recently brought Murder Down Under: the Snowtown Murders documentary to Nine), it made season 17 of Border Security for Seven.
