I’m really hoping to hear tomorrow, with news that 7 are planning an AFL panel show most nights next year, that a weekly sports show is coming too. SportsWorld was very good and I think it would be good for them to get back into the weekly all sports panel world.

I’d count on hearing the first as confirmed, but not the second.

They really are doing AFL every night?

You could say every night given some nights there will be AFL coverage, but expect an expanded lineup of magazine shows next year.

Monday - surely
Tuesday - probably
Wednesday- definitely - already 2 with FB & TF
Thursday - AFL
Friday - AFL
Saturday - no AFL until R16
Sunday - AFL + surely morning show

Saturday is probably the only day without an AFL show. I don’t think they need a show on Tuesday cause that’s probably overkill

I think 4 shows (incl Front Bar) is enough

• Monday: show reviewing the previous round
• Wednesday: Front Bar & a revamped Talking Footy which Looking at the round ahead + some previous round stuff
• Sunday morning: show recapping all the games played so far

Agree - I don’t think enough happens in the world of AFL that wouldn’t have already been discussed on Monday - apart from tribunal hearings.

Sounds like a Tuesday show will be happening.

The Tuesday Classified is likely to go head-to-head against Kane Cornes’ new show on Seven.

2025: The year of the AFL Panel Shows.

Monday: “Weekend Review”?
Tuesday: “The Kane Cornes Show” (rumoured to be there, by the above article)
Wednesday: The Front Bar + Talking Footy
Thursday & Friday: AFL
Saturday: N/A (for most of the season)
Sunday: Is AFL Game Day returning? + AFL

Up against Nine’s Footy Classified on Monday and Tuesdays, plus many of Foxtel’s AFL shows.

Not sure if it’s been confirmed for Wednesday or not, but I wonder if they might move Talking Footy to Monday - wouldn’t make sense to have two football shows on the same night, as I feel that 2.5 hours of football shows (even though I know they are very different formats), is a bit too much.

The idea is you retain the football loving audience longer into the night with The Front Bar + Talking Footy back to back. And remember, they are completely different shows, The Front Bar is not a proper analytical program like Talking Footy is.

With 7’s up front being tmr, anyone expecting any surprises? I feel it will basically be the same stuff as this year apart from flops like Made in Bondi etc

Apart from the new AFL content, and the Stranded on Honeymoon Island Show (which was due to go to air this year), it will probably just be a case of copying the previous years schedule, and deleting the flops. Any surprises IMO would be drama outside of Home and Away, and RFDS.

Wouldn’t count on it.

I think SAS Australia is returning next year

Correct, after being announced for this year:

Didn’t Merrick debunk this? Or are we assuming Ant lied just about his involvement and the show is really back?

I don’t think we’ll see it back.

Yes, however, he didn’t denied that the show is not returning.
