Seven might put an encore(s) of Voice after the news on Saturday night, rather than movies I reckon (8:30pm / 9pm). I notice some markets already had TBAs for Friday night after Better Homes, might be the same.

SA & VIC might go to the AFL which might start on 7mate at 7pm and then transfer to 7 immediately after the news

SA also has the twilight AFL match between the Lions and the Crows which is almost certain to go to 7mate due to the soccer.

This. The AFL have pushed the start time of Carlton v Melbourne back to 7.30pm, presumably to accommodate Seven.

But Seven News goes for 1 hour (unless they only do 30min in Melbourne like Perth got on Monday night), but even still there’ll be the 30min post game show at 7pm, that’s not including extra time. So I think the AFL will have to start (match) on m/c 7mate in Melbourne this Saturday, if too prolonged, they should just leave it there and go to other programming later on main channel after news. As others have said, this Saturday is all about the Matildas, whether the AFL like it and Seven have a strong relationship with them or not, it’s one night. We’ve seen others foregone/affected multiple times in the past with Olympics and Comm Games, even reality TV MKR!

i think that will be on 7mate nationwide because after the final whistle and maybe showing celebrations of the winning team they will go to the news.

I have a feeling that Melbourne and Adelaide will not have a proper News service on Saturday night, and will go straight into the AFL. They may have extended news updates during the quarter and half time breaks.
In Sydney and Brisbane, they’ll most likely will show the post-game segment on the main channel, then will show the news by 7.30pm. But if that’s “too late” for an hours service, i dont know.

Preliminary info shows in Sydney and Brisbane the news is 7-8pm with post game show of 30 mins on 7Two (AFL is on 7Mate).

Agree. Seven have been milking the finishing time for the AFL for years now (well, the post-match segments at least). Surely, with the even bigger match of the World Cup, Seven are “secretly” hoping it goes past the 7pm mark…

If need be, Seven News can be cut down to 20 minutes and air during the half time break of Carlton v Melbourne.
