The Pembrokeshire Murders

The true crime drama event of 2021. How did a game show bring down a serial killer?

From the multi-award-winning makers of global hits Line of Duty and Bodyguard , comes monster UK hit and true crime drama event: The Pembrokeshire Murders .

This gripping three-part series brings to life the extraordinary cold case pursuit of the most notorious serial killer in Welsh history, a former farm labourer dubbed the “Bullseye Killer”.

The Pembrokeshire Murders tells the true story of Operation Ottawa, a cold case investigation into two double murders from the 1980s, which took place in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. It is based Catching The Bullseye Killer , a book by Steve Wilkins who was the senior investigating officer in the case.

In 2006, the newly promoted Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins decided to reopen both cases. Employing pioneering forensic methods, Wilkins and his handpicked team found microscopic DNA and fibres that potentially linked the murders to a string of burglaries committed in the 1980s and 1990s. The perpetrator of those robberies was nearing the end of his prison sentence, but if Steve Wilkins was right, he was also a serial killer.

Could Steve and his team find enough forensic evidence to charge their suspect before he was released to potentially kill again? And what vital clue on TV game show Bullseye helped crack the case?

Starring Welsh-born Hollywood actor Luke Evans ( Beauty and the Beast, The Alienist, Dracula Untold ), The Pembrokeshire Murders debuted in the UK last month to critical acclaim and monster ratings, becoming ITV’s biggest new drama series since 2014 and its biggest drama launch since 2006.

Is The Chase UK (3:00pm timeslot) supposed to be airing in Melbourne today? Just flicked to Seven at 3:30 and it seems another program is being played out?

Probably due to Melbourne coronavirus press conferences stuffing up timeslots.

Oh right, forgot about that

I think Seven have made a mistake by not having Big Brother premiering on Monday 22nd February.

Holey Moley will get crushed by MAFS.

Given Seven had started promoting BB only recently, it will take another month or so before it hits our screens.

I thought Ultimate Tag was next?

I think they’d be silly to put Ultimate Tag on next, given how similar it is in format to Holey Moley (i.e. action/obstacle course show).

I think that action/obstacle course genre needs some breathing space and Ultimate Tag should be left to after Big Brother.

Monday / Tuesday/ Wednesday = 3 episodes
Thursday = 3 episodes
Total 6 episodes per week.

Are they playing catch up with airing 6 episodes per week or is that now the norm?

The show aired about 25 episodes less last year than they usually would, so I assume they’re playing catch up.

(Not sure if this is the right place to post this so please move if necessary.)

With the news today that Seven West Media have turned over a decent profit, I hope that Seven will seriously consider starting a 7pm current affairs show, to be a serious competitor against ABC News, A Current Affair and The Project.

As a long-time viewer of Home and Away, I would be sad to see the show leave its 7pm slot and see the ratings inevitably decline, but I feel that H&A just isn’t cutting it at the moment.

My grandma is loving the extra Christmas episodes at the moment. The only thing she is watching on tv apparently

The TBA’s have been replaced mostly with movies. While Holey Moley finishes Monday, seemingly one day early, with the Tuesday spot going to a factual which is clips from previous episodes.
