Given Seven didn’t show episode 19 of The Good Doctor last night, it will need to air the episode sometime this week so the season can finish on Sunday as scheduled.
I’d say it is more about getting House Rules off to a good a start as possible. They can’t afford another tent pole failure. I thought the 7pm start in a non-ratings week was a good strategy and would get them the highest number for viewers.
One very key feature is that the show will have potentially the highest lead-in of anything else on TV with Seven News drawing +1.2 million viewers most nights. An rather than “waste” the lead-on on Home and Away or The Latest the though they could boost House Rules.

Last update 30/03/2020
Another update to the schedule with changes Sunday - Wednesday and confirmation of timeslot for The Latest - the original TBC all confirmed.
FFS with The Good Doctor being pushed back even further for its last two episodes. They should have just aired both episodes, since it’s a two part finale, tomorrow night instead of Jack Reacher.
Has Home & Away been moved permanently out of 7pm?
No, it’s only temporary while Seven News goes all out covering the COVID-19 pandemic by scheduling The Latest at 7:00pm every night.
Except that’s not what’s happening. The Latest is moving from the 7pm slot for House Rules.
I don’t get why the heavy promotion for The Latest at 7pm if it’s only for a few more days and why add the 9.30 bulletin to the promo even? Just confusing the audience …
Home and Away is returning to 7pm on Easter Monday (April 13).
House Rules is only at 7pm during the first week.
Very inconsistent scheduling and they wonder why their viewers are flocking elsewhere. They don’t even know what they’re doing with their shows.
What a mess of a schedule. Are they running it at 7pm to give it the upper hand for launching early? Consistency wise, keeping The Latest at 7pm but dropping it back to 30 mins and running House Rules at 7:30 where it’s going to eventually end up anyway would be the best option.
Or even returning Home & Away to the 7pm slot next week instead of waiting for the week after
But if House Rules does really well at 7pm, there could be another last minute switch.
New schedule all markets:
Wednesday 1 April
07:00 PM The Latest: Seven News
08:00 PM Highway Patrol Special: The Cops Tell All Premiere
09:00 PM The Front Bar

10:30 PM Deadly Dates Rpt
11:30 PM Autopsy USA: Lou Reed
It seems Seven has pulled the House Rules premiere from Sunday night.
Good decision to bump House Rules. If they have the House rules return against the MAFS Season finale, it will no doubt be a disaster. I think it’s will be a lopsided Sunday night and I predict that channel 9 will no doubt top the share with 48.4%.
9’s plan … out to destroy 7. Revenge for 12 years of coming second. Fair enough. 7 need to lift their game.
Good decision from 7.
Updated promo aired tonight says House Rules will air from Monday to Thursday next week. We wait to see what will happen to Pooch Perfect next Thursday.
