Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

Seven must not have liked the performance of Psych; replaced by an extra episode of The Chase.

It’s a very old show. Was surprised to see it on screen the other day when I was at the gym. Did it ever have a FTA screening in Australia before? I’m thinking it might have bern on a 10 multichannel maybe?

Of course, the series ran on Ten Saturday nights at one point with Monk. Later ran out on One IIRC.

It will be hosted by Vanessa Hudgens (for the third year in a row), who is joined this year by Julianne Hough from the US version of Dancing with the Stars.

I caught up on FTB and TF today on 7Plus and noticed how much shorter the run time of the latter is, just 40min or something (7mate version between 2015 and 2020 went for 1hr+). So perhaps allows the preceding shows to run over, not that they should however.

The special coverage begins at 5.30am with an extended edition of Sunrise. Co-hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington will cross live to Seven’s US correspondent Mylee Hogan on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre® in Hollywood.

Following Sunrise, viewers can take in all the fashion, glitz and glamour of The Oscars Red Carpet Show from 9.30am AEDT on Channel 7 and streaming live nationally on 7plus.

The Oscars ceremony is live and exclusive from 10.00am AEDT on Channel 7 and streaming live nationally on 7plus, with an encore screening at 8.30pm, straight after Australian Idol’s live verdict show.

Over on 7Bravo, E! Live From The Red Carpet: The 2024 Oscars is live and exclusive from 7.00am AEDT, followed by the Red Carpet Rundown at 9.30am.

Jimmy Kimmel returns as Oscars host for a fourth time, with presenters announced to date including Mahershala Ali, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ke Huy Quan, Sam Rockwell, Michelle Yeoh and Zendaya.

Jon Batiste, Becky G, Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, Scott George and the Osage Singers, and Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson will take the stage to perform this year’s nominated songs.

Australians secured four Oscars nominations this year, including two-time Academy Award ®**-nominee Margot Robbie** , who is a fan-favourite in the Best Picture category as a producer of Barbie.

Screenwriter Tony McNamara has been nominated for Adapted Screenplay (Writing) for Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, while producers Nicky Bentham (The After) and Sara McFarlane (Red, White and Blue) are going head-to-head in the Short Film (Live Action) category.

According to the advance guides, Seven will simulcast the first 20 minutes of Better Homes and Gardens on both main channel and 7TWO from 7pm. From 7.20pm onwards BH&G will be on 7TWO only.

Wonder if Seven News in Adelaide will finish at 6:40pm on Fridays, or if the main channel will join the coverage at 7pm after the news finishes.

On Friday this week the news in Adelaide was extended to finish just before the opening bounce (7:09pm). Apparently the same happened in Brisbane (6:39pm).

So only 20min now to give BH&G that headline rating in Melbourne, will be easier to achieve high '100k, bit unfair isn’t it? But I guess that’s the only reason they’re still doing it, otherwise 7Two promos and channel change message for 7pm would be enough, unless they think getting viewers to watch 20min might see more switch than if at 7pm?

I think Seven saw some poor results this weekend, with split scheduling, outside AFL. Will be interesting to see schedules/amendments and any edits/increase in promos and advisory messages from this week. I mean they lost last night to Nine… Despite AFL (which was top non-news program nationally) yet no NRL. @aarontvcentral

The Port Adelaide v West Coast match begins on 7mate at 5.25pm, giving viewers five minutes to switch over.

The footy moves to 7mate at 6pm.

Usually if there was a local team in the Sunday timeslot, the game would go until 6pm, and South Aussie with Cosi would not air for the week. Seven should keep the AFL until 6pm, or more preferably, show the news at half-time.

I would expect the Oscar’s will rate well tomorrow for Seven. A public holiday and a heatwave in Melbourne should push numbers up

Along with Adelaide

The Oscars telecast finished at 1.29pm, then it’s straight to the encore of last night’s episode of Australian Idol.

Wasn’t sure if this was going to be any good but so far Steve Vizard and Joel Creasey have had me in stitches :rofl::rofl:
Edit: the whole show was funny.

Did they run out of content and have to roast each other instead? While it was overall funny there was a lot of duplicate material going around. I noticed a lot of people on social media sampling the show but not sticking with the whole program so probably expect a high reach number.

They usually roast each other too, not just the guest of honour.
