BILLY CONNOLLY & ME

Monday at 7.30pm

Billy Connolly and fans mark his five decades in comedy in this brand new one-hour special featuring classic clips alongside new performance footage, fan revelations and star stories, plus a brand-new interview with the man himself.

Billy Connolly has been making us laugh for 50 years. He is beloved across generations for his anarchic, life-affirming humour and the unique bond he has with his audience.

The one-hour special BILLY CONNOLLY & ME rewinds his classic stand-up moments, alongside new and unseen performance footage.

Fans of all ages from around the globe share their extraordinary stories about how Billy has amused, inspired and influenced them, while famous fans including Dame Judi Dench, David Tennant, Andy Murray, Eric Idle, Armando Iannucci and Sir Elton John share personal memories.

Stand-up comedians Peter Kay and Adam Hills reveal how Billy inspired their comic careers. Billy’s wife Pamela Stephenson, no comedy slouch herself, talks about life with Billy from their Florida home.

We also hear from Billy’s public - from students to pensioners, from Scotland to Qatar – telling heartening, emotional tales of how Billy helped them find love, give birth, change career, tackle obstacles and even come to terms with their disabilities.

These video diary-style anecdotes, sprinkled throughout the film, provide an intimate counterpoint to a major new interview with Billy Connolly himself, recording his reaction to the fans’ stories, along with reflections on such topics as turning swearing into an art form and the underestimated power of laughter.

Looking back on the great man’s wild 50-year career, BILLY CONNOLLY & ME is full of laughter, tears and unforgettable moments, hailing Billy’s influence on those who have come into his orbit.

Don’t think so, that good would to watch on 7Mate via Prime tho.

I know it’s been discussed before, but Seven calling “The Parent Trap” (1998) a “premiere”…

How pathetic.

When it’s aired on the network for many years as part of their Disney deal :expressionless:

(It’s neither a free-to-air nor network premiere, it’s a repeat).

Nice to see Seven really mixing it up with a new movie on 7mate tonight…

Con Air (1997)

repeat or encore

Hell’s Kitchen has only 10 episodes, Seven is not planning to show them in just four weeks is it? What about Little Big Shots?

There are only 2 Blue Murder: Killer Cop shows and Seven are planning on blowing them in 2 nights!?!? What are they thinking!!!

It is a miniseries and networks prefer to broadcast them over two nights instead of two weeks.

Still, it seems like such a waste to have such a big build up for it all to go after just two nights. All of Seven’s other miniseries’ over the past several years have at least been shown over two weeks. There had better be big ratings for it over these two nights then…

That hasn’t been the case with Seven recently - Hoges, Molly etc

I think Luke has exceeded his annual quota of brackets and slashes in the last week alone :open_mouth:

Does Ten do the same? Feels like they pick worldwide formats and 7 and 9 copy them. Masterchef- MKR for example , can’t think of any others …perhaps that quiz show that 7 was airing that seems to have gone (can’t think of the name)

As I have a Yahoo email address, I got this annoying email this morning telling me

YUMMIE MUMMIES . 7 .

Don’t miss the controversial show everyone is talking about

Watch as these wealthy expectant mums try to outdo each other.

That show also seems to be on every ad on Plus 7 . The title alone just puts me off. Maybe women watch this show ?
