Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

And I saw Highway Patrol filming a new season (via Greenstone TV) in my local area, at a freeway service centre a few weeks ago.

All these we’ve seen, are obviously for 2018.

Speaking of which, I really like Border + Force double last night. I know they’re old, but new eps still provide great insight, entertainment and laughs :grinning:

It’ll probably become Highway Patrol + Surveillance Oz (or something else) later this year.

I saw The Force filming in Townsville last year.
The police and camera crew turned up next door to the apartment building I lived in at the time.

Was odd seeing the people with cameras and booms running around behind the police.

Presumably, the Adelaide news broadcast will be during half-time for Sat 24 June?

I wonder why movies are always TBA initially?

Also, I don’t admit to knowing anything about how programmers, etc. operate.

But I have always wondered whether there’s any strategy to the movies they air (which movie, how many, timeslots, channels, etc)?

Seems often that they just pluck out random movies  I mean networks have access to complete libraries.

Which gets to the point about Seven’s midday movies, what’s the point of airing made-for-TV ones all these years, air proper films, you’re not going to run out (Nine do)!

Some movies they have to ensure a certain number of plays in their contract, while a bit of it comes down to the length of the movies and what time length slot it is wanted for (i.e. You may want to schedule something in after the movie so you’re unlikely to schedule a three hour film)

Also, looks like 7Two will air a double-movie from this Saturday night.

Look at the EPG/guides… That’s a helluva lot of movies!

Glad to see Seven reverted to movies in those markets, will hold a much better share than Car Wars, Angriest, etc :+1:

So Seven have now ditched the Saturday late night movie (which usually airs at 11pm-11:15pm anyway), in place of Criminal Minds encores that aren’t even rating :disappointed:

Slightly disagree. Couldn’t Seven wait for Car Wars to finish next week in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth before airing classic movies (tonight is part 2)?

What I was getting at is, “Pretty Woman” is a popular film (aired on Seven many times), it will air for a couple of hours or more. It doesn’t even have to rate 500k in order to pull a decent share.

ALONG WITH the AFL, puts Seven in a very good position.

Whereas Car Wars is only like 30min max?

I don’t know why such a good program should be buried on late Sunday nights. It should be shown at 7.30pm Thursdays in place of comedy repeats. Seven is showing season 2 from tonight, however since then two more seasons have aired in Britain.

It’s a British factual. Care factor zero. What comedy repeats? I see a clip show on Thursday.

Because it brings in a demographic that works for them…

There’s nothing wrong with a factual regardless of country of origin, provided it is relevant and/or interesting for the audience watching and delivers sufficient ratings.

True but generally the overseas factuals don’t deliver the ratings.

Are you implying “Pretty Woman” won’t rate in 25-54s in those markets for Seven?
