At some point, Seven are going to have to address their 5pm/news lead-in problem with Tipping Point Australia dominating the ratings and the flow on effect that has on the 6pm news ratings.
Any suggestions on what could be done?
Differentiate from Nine by moving The Chase Australia to 4pm, and the Afternoon News to 5pm?
Or is it time to produce a local version of a different UK game show, such as Countdown, or Catch Phrase?
Why the urgency? Hot Seat was trailing The Chase for years before it was dropped for Tipping Point.
What urgency? He literally starts off by saying “at some point”.

Why bother showing the opening 20 minutes of the match on the main channel before the 6pm news? May as well show the whole match on 7mate.
IIRC it aired on Nine in the past three years since the FTA premiere in February 2021.
Surprised in Perth they don’t just keep the match on till 7. Nine are practically invisible there, Seven really should be running their own race, rather than being scared to give Nine a few crumbs.
The telecast will now start at 3pm (first bounce at 3.20pm) due to rescheduling of Hawthorn-North Melbourne match - see AFL thread.
Somewhat odd to see BH&G on main channel in Melbourne tonight, given final round and so much on the line in one of the closest seasons and finishes in memory, with lots of permutations for finals (albeit tonight is probably not one of them despite a very slim chance Collingwood could still make it or could be a good contest).
Pre-Olympics, Seven trialled AFL starting at 7pm on main channel instead of 7mate for at least a few weeks in a row with some big games.
