There was. I watched it on Fox. You could also see them setting up the stage in the background.
And none of this was televised by the free to air broadcaster earlier today.

Just a reminder that tonight’s Big Bash will be live on 7Mate in all cities, since Seven is airing the Prince Harry Interview at 7.30pm.
I’m sure Cricket Australia are thrilled, not even a week after the new broadcast deal signing.

Surely no one really cares about a trophy presentation of a series which was already decided in the previous test. Not saying they should or shouldn’t have cut it but I can understand why.

IIRC Australia and South Africa used to play for a Trans-Indian Trophy after the latter’s return to international cricket in 1992.

I think the post-match and series presentation should be shown as that is what shows the player of the match and player of the series, both captains talking about the series, etc. i don’t care about the trophy presentation but I think those interviews should be shown
If it were a case where we were close to 6pm and the news instead of 5:30 I’d say fair enough to cut it off. To cut it off to show a repeat for the millionth time of Border Security (an ethically dubious program in itself but that’s for another topic), not so acceptable.

Yeah if it was 5:45pm when the match finished then I wouldn’t mind because they could probably show it during the news etc but this was at like 5:30pm

Looks like it’s the NFL playoffs next week so there are 2 matches on Monday 16th on 7mate.
Game 1 starting 8:30am & the 2nd game at 12:15pm. So that’s probably why they aren’t switching the cricket to 7mate after the NFL

Good to know, I intend to watch both as I missed this morning’s games!
Should be three games on Monday (5am, 8:30am, 12:15pm) , plus two Sunday (8:30am, 12:15pm) and one Tuesday (12:15pm). I’m seeing both Sunday games in the guide but I can’t see Monday or Tuesday yet from where I am at this moment in time.

She is 7News Melbourne sports reader on weekends but I think she is pregnant so both of those could be a reason why she hasn’t been part of this years coverage
