Seven Cricket Coverage

Australia v New Zealand

Australian fast-bowling sensation Pat Cummins will take up an expert commentary role as the Aussie women take on the White Ferns on Saturday September 29.

Cummins said he was looking forward to getting behind the microphone at North Sydney Oval:

“The Australian Women’s T20 side has been hugely successful in recent years and I can’t wait to see the skipper, Meg Lanning, back into the side this summer. It will be a tough series with New Zealand posting some massive scores recently over in the UK. As a player, hopefully I can offer some different insights to fans watching on Seven.”

The trans-Tasman clash on AFL Grand Final night is the much-anticipated opener of a three-match T20 International LIVE on Channel 7 and 7mate.

Captain Meg Lanning leads the Australians LIVE from North Sydney Oval as they seek to turn the tables on fierce rivals New Zealand, having never won a T20 series against the Kiwis in three attempts since 2012.

Mel McLaughlin, Andy Maher and Abbey Gelmi will host Seven’s coverage, with expert commentary from former Australian stars Lisa Sthalekar and Julia Price, and current fast-bowling star Pat Cummins.

Australian squad: Nicola Carey, Ashleigh Gardner, Rachael Haynes (vc), Alyssa Healy, Delissa Kimmince, Meg Lanning (c), Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Elyse Villani, Tayla Vlaeminck, Georgia Wareham

I spoke to Channel 7 about the streaming of cricket and I believe that unfortunately the Seven Network does not have the rights to stream the coverage on 7Plus. The 7Plus will blackout the coverage and replace by Border Security International Repeats.

Live streaming is only available through Cricket Australia Live app for women’s international matches. I think CA will stream live Fox Cricket’s coverage only, not Seven’s coverage.

Seven’s telecast of tonight’s women’s T20 is getting some last minute push online and during today’s AFL Grand Final pre-match.

Fanfare for the Common Man has returned:

Graphics are pretty decent (better than Nine’s effort at least)

Graphics are fine, not great, but not as bad as I was expecting.

There’s a really tacky and unnecessary animation on most of the supers they should drop.

The graphics coverage has converged - Fox and Seven now the same

A high quality intro but after a so many years of cricket coverage being associated with the Nine Network and New Horizons as the theme music, it’s so surreal hearing Fanfare for the Common Man for a Cricket Opener!

Seven’s scoreboard looks miles better than Fox’s

Typeface for the graphics are similar to those used in last year’s Rugby League World Cup.

Incredibly clever to bring back Fanfare for the Common man, reminds the audience of Nine but it’s firmly in Seven’s history.

The CGI stadium in the seven sport opener is a bit gross, would like to see them use something less fake.

I noticed that earlier in the AFL with a football version of it. Is today the first time they’ve had it back. It’s great to hear it back again!

Foxtel would be happy with this:

That happens on afl too doesn’t it?

Might be in a minority, but very surprised, that was actually a really good intro package IMO, the psychedelic looking colours were good.
