Is Michael Holding involved in the coverage?
I love how the decades old tradition of cricket coverage still contains this one small element.
The crossing to the news for VIC and NSW, no mention of Tas.
it’s a few test matches in to the summer does Tas get mentioned.
Happens every year, almost without fail, regardless of which network.
Neither network owns stations in Tasmania. So why would they make mention?
Involved in the promos so maybe in the 2nd test?
For the same reason they eventually fix it every year I’d imagine. Ultimately they’re still broadcasting there, don’t think it comes to an ownership issue, it’s a basic courtesy to inform an audience.
I’m certain I was able to watch the Ashes last year on 7+
Today - reruns of bloody Border Security
Nope, they just had a live scoreboard. This time it’s just border security
Cheers mate!
Interesting, looks like 7 is using the Fox DRS timer.
IIRC, the last couple of years they had their own DRS timer
That’s similar but not the same. Fox’s wouldn’t sit so nicely on Seven’s graphics.
It’s definitely a FOX graphic. Likely a problem with the data feed, so they’re taking it direct from Fox as an iso.
Same as last year. For all DRS, reviews they used the fox coverage.
Their scores have been quite delayed it seems as well this Test.
Yeah they use their actual DRS parts, but this is the DRS timer he’s talking about and Seven had their own last year.
Holding calling in for a segment at tea.
It doesn’t seem that he will be commentating during the series, he confirmed that he’s happily retired from the media.
Former Test captain and Channel 7 commentator Ricky Ponting has been taken to a Perth hospital during the first Test between Australia and West Indies.
Not sure how his condition is at present.
Ponting has reportedly told his colleagues he is feeling alright but wanted to take every possible precaution after feeling unwell.
Then he shouldn’t have been promoted as such
