“Complete cricket coverage”

One important point is that Seven will televise the Australia-India test series and the BBL this summer while arbitration is underway.

Why do they show Jhye Richardson when he’s not even going to be involved?

The only relevant point you made is the first and that’s only if they cut away prior to the match being completed

The rest is just superfluous nonsense

Nine managed for years to do this well before inserting more fluff than a Tontine pillow.

I’m not saying they didn’t, I was just rebuking 7’s claim of complete cricket coverage.

I love my cricket, but an hour of fluff before the match and over lunch isn’t required to complete the coverage. As long as I get to see every ball bowled in a day and we’re regularly updated during rain delays I’m happy.

The WBBL semi-finals and grand final will be shown entirely on 7mate in all states, on November 25, 26 and 28, from 7pm AEDT.

I can understand the semis being on 7mate considering they’re on a weeknight. However, surely showing the final on the main channel would rate better than the movies that are scheduled instead?

It can’t perform any worse than Lord of the Rings did last night for Seven…

Little hiccup but she’s on her way.

Yep, she did an interview with Grandstand earlier today. She’ll be part of the ABC team again this summer.

With Seven complaining about not having international players available for the Big Bash, here’s a proposal I’ve come up with for the 2021-22 summer so that it is not this way. Thoughts?

November
Sun 14 Nov: ICC T20 World Cup Final in India
Sun 21 Nov: One off T20I v South Africa @ Manuka
Tue 23 Nov: 1st ODI v South Africa @ Hobart
Wed 24 Nov: 2nd ODI v South Africa @ Hobart
Thu 25 Nov: 3rd ODI v South Africa @ Hobart

December
Wed 01 Dec-Sun 05 Dec: 1st Test v England @ GABBA
Thu 09 Dec-Mon 13 Dec: 2nd Test v England @ Adelaide Oval (day/night)
Fri 17 Dec-Tue 21 Dec: 3rd Test v England @ Optus Stadium
Sun 26 Dec-Thu 30 Dec: 4th Test v England @ MCG

January
Tue 04 Jan-Sat 08 Jan: 5th Test v England @ SCG
Sun 09 Jan-Mon 24 Jan: Big Bash Season (32 games in the 16 day period, 2 games per day, each team plays each other once and play one team twice)
Wed 26 Jan: Big Bash Semi-Final 1 (2nd v 3rd)
Thu 27 Jan: Big Bash Semi-Final 2 (1st v 4th)
Sun 29 Jan: Big Bash Final

Next summer’s draw includes five Ashes test matches against England and 3 ODI’s and 3T20I’s against South Africa scheduled for January, but I have reduced the number of T20I’s to one, and moved the series to November, so that January is free for the Big Bash.

The Big Bash would be reduced to 32 games in the regular season, with Foxtel exclusively broadcasting nine of those matches.
