Confirmed AFL Women’s channels for 23 November
Yes, I don’t think Bennett and Nicholson will be on the same call permanently.
I do think Seven would like to keep Alister on Thursdays after his success in the slot this year, so we could see something like this next year assuming BT and JB stay on Fridays:
Thursday: BT and Alister
Friday: BT and JB
Sunday: Hamish and Jason Bennett
Bennett can call the VFL on Saturdays.
Yeah 7’s ratings on Friday night will decrease unless they make changes themselves
Personally I don’t care about ads so I watched 7 when it was FTA match & only watched Kayo if my team is playing on a Fox match. Now Friday night is definitely Fox for me.
Kane Cornes shrugging off any criticism ahead of new network debut
Footy’s most polarising commentator Kane Cornes says he won’t change his style and isn’t fazed by criticism.
Cornes said people can throw insults his way but he will continue to stand by his opinions.
“Do I like (the headlines), well it’s part of it,’’ he said.
“I would rather that than things that you say go unnoticed. If someone is interested in what you’ve said and wants to amplify the content, I think that’s good. People say clickbait, I am (that) and that means people are interested in what you’ve said. People say it as an insult but I don’t see it that way.”
Cornes said his career had been a “slow burn” but admits he will feel some pressure as a marquee signing to join Seven as a commentator on the broadcast and new Monday and Tuesday night program The Agenda Setters with fellow new signing Nick Riewoldt and as expected, Caroline Wilson and Craig Hutchison.
What is Nick Riewoldt doing with this bunch of losers?
The Mathew Lloyd role?
7mate’s coverage of North Melbourne v Port Adelaide preliminary final ended at 5.10pm AEDT. The match finished late due to high scoring by the home side and also extended breaks under the AFL’s heat policy.
The team song was not shown on TV.

North Melbourne will face Brisbane Lions in the first ever night AFLW grand final at Ikon Park next Saturday night, after the two teams won their preliminary finals against Port Adelaide and Adelaide respectively.
It is the rematch of last year’s decider, and the Lions’ 6th grand final appearance.
At the tail end of the chat with Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports on 3AW this evening, Caroline Wilson said Seven would make a big announcement about its footy shows tomorrow, adding “watch this space”.
Craig Hutchison returns to Seven
Latest recruit revealed as network unveils bold AFL programming plans for 2025
The Seven Network today announced that after 18 years, Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) Chief Executive Officer, Craig Hutchison, will return to the network in 2025.
Hutchison is the latest high-profile recruit to join Seven to headline the network’s upcoming AFL news and opinion driven program, The Agenda Setters, which will air on Monday and Tuesday nights throughout the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season on Seven and 7plus Sport.
“Hutchy” will host Monday night’s edition The Agenda Setters, where he will be joined on the panel by recent Seven signings Kane Cornes and Nick Riewoldt.
The Agenda Setters’ Tuesday night line up – which will also feature Cornes – will be unveiled in full in the lead up to the 2025 season.
Together with SEN’s TV arm Rainmaker, Seven has also announced a Wednesday night interview program hosted by 7Sport host and commentator Hamish McLachlan titled Unfiltered, set to air on Seven and 7plus Sport each week after the fan-favourite sports show, The Front Bar.
Seven Network Director of Sport, Chris Jones, said the new schedule was a win for fans, with the network set to have AFL programming seven days a week across Seven and 7plus Sport in 2025.
“The Agenda Setters on Mondays and Tuesdays will be appointment viewing, and together with Rainmaker, we’ve assembled an incredibly experienced production team for this show to complement our unrivalled on-air lineup.
“Unfiltered on Wednesdays is going to take us behind the curtain and give fans the opportunity to learn more about the person behind the athlete. With Hamish McLachlan at the helm, viewers will be granted the best storytelling possible with the biggest and most fascinating names in the game,” he said.
“At Seven, we can’t wait to bring footy fans more content than ever before, every week of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season on Seven and 7plus.
"From mid-week footy analysis headlined by new signings Kane Cornes, Craig Hutchison and Nick Riewoldt alongside our existing group of AFL experts, to light-hearted footy content midweek, all before the first bounce on Thursday Night Footy, there has never been a more exciting time to be an AFL fan,” Mr Jones said.
Hutchison said: “Seven is the home of free-to-air AFL, and has an unrivalled history, legacy and contribution to AFL football. These new shows will shape and set the agenda of the weekday discussion of football, which is at the heart of the game.
“The media and opinions around the game is the zeitgeist of what fuels Australian football, and we will bring the game’s biggest names to the table and call it as it is.
“And on a personal level, to return to Seven where I spent many years earlier in my career is an honour,” he said.
AFL fans are in for a treat in 2025, with Seven presenting AFL content every day of the week during the AFL season, including games on 23 Thursday nights, 24 Friday nights, 25 Sunday afternoons, five Sunday nights, plus marquee games and every game in the Finals Series including – exclusive to Seven and 7plus Sport – the Brownlow Medal and the AFL Grand Final.
The seven-day-a-week AFL offering will include The Front Bar’s regular AFL shows and cricket and year-in-review specials, along with a series of brand-new AFL offerings for Seven and 7plus Sport, giving footy fans access to fresh AFL content every single day.
The AFL programs include The Agenda Setters, Unfiltered, Extra Time, Sunday Footy Feast, The Wash Up, Kane’s Call, podcasts and more.
Welcome to Seven, Hutchy.
Hosting The Agenda Setters on Mondays, alongside Kane Cornes and Nick Riewoldt.
A big year ahead for Seven with so many new faces and AFL programs.
Back to the network that suspended him for comments relating to the Marvel Stadium playing surface.
Another good reason for me to avoid 7!
The thing is, when do they draw the line here?
If you were truly AFL mad you’d look to Kayo.
Aside from Sunday Nights, where will they fit their other programming.
Probably in the 9pm/10 slots or on 7Mate like they did with the 2014 version of Talking Footy.
Story was done on tonight’s news, includes one of his final stories from 2006 (with related graphics package and reporting on rumours of Denis Pagan’s sacking as Carlton coach - which would happen a year later):
And Seven Sport’s rarely seen Head of AFL Gary O’Keeffe in front of the old BCM MCR at HSV (originally from Perth and has worked since Atlanta 1996):
Looks like there will be 2 documentaries? 1 about the Swans & 1 called Full Sweat which is about Hawks
Seven to go behind the scenes at Hawks HQ
Full Sweat to premiere on Seven and 7plus in 2025
Ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, the Seven Network has announced the Hawthorn Football Club will be the subject of a behind-the-scenes pre-season documentary, Full Sweat , to be broadcast exclusively on Seven and 7plus Sport.
The multi-part docuseries will give AFL fans a unique, inner-sanctum look into the 2025 AFL pre-season, where Sam Mitchell’s side will be aiming to build on their memorable 2024 finals berth.
With key figures of the brown and gold set to feature, Seven will take viewers behind the scenes in an access all areas documentary, as the Hawks embark on one of their biggest years yet, both on and off the field.
The unmissable documentary is set to be released before the 2025 AFL season gets underway on Seven and streamed on 7plus Sport.
Seven Network Director of Sport, Chris Jones said: “As we embark on a huge 2025 in which Australians can finally stream the footy live and free on 7plus Sport, we couldn’t think of a better way to launch the season than with an exclusive behind-the-scenes series with the most exciting club in the competition.
“Fans of all teams were captivated by the Hawks in 2024, and we cannot wait to take Australians behind the curtain of a gruelling pre-season at Waverley Park with some of the competition’s most popular players.
“Full Sweat will kick off Seven’s huge 2025 AFL season, which includes seven days of prime-time AFL programming throughout the entire home and away season and Finals Series, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport,” he said.
Hawthorn CEO Ash Klein said he is looking forward to filming getting underway.
“We’re delighted to be working with the Seven Network and JAM TV to bring Hawks members and fans inside our great club during the upcoming AFL pre-season,” he said.
“We couldn’t have reached the heights that we did in 2024 without our members and fans and as we aim to back up our success in 2025, it is only fitting we give them an inner-sanctum, behind-the-scenes look into our pre-season.
“We want to have everyone along for the ride as we hope to have another strong year for the brown and gold,” Mr Klein said.

According to online guides, the AFLW grand final will remain on 7mate in Queensland. A missed opportunity really. As the match doesn’t start until 6.45pm QLD time, Seven’s main channel could have had a 30-minute news at 6pm (with pre-match preview and entertainment on 7mate at the same time), followed by the footy at 6.30pm.
