Seven Adelaide wins every week of 2016 ratings survey

Seven Adelaide celebrated its tenth straight annual ratings victory, winning every week of the latest 2016 survey.

The AFL Grand Final was Adelaide’s number one TV event with the presentations averaging 343,745 viewers and the match 321,686 viewers – a sharp increase on the 2015 AFL Grand Final figures.

Molly was the number one drama while My Kitchen Rules the top regular entertainment program.

Seven News won the 6pm news ratings for its 16th straight year and capped off the year with a 415 week winning streak while Today Tonight extended its winning sequence to 630 weeks and is unbeaten since 2001, enjoying 16 consecutive years at the top.

Seven Adelaide General Manager Tony Davison said: “To win 40/40 weeks in our tenth year of leadership is an outstanding result.

We are the only commercial network to grow our share - and this magnificent result is underpinned by the phenomenal performance of Seven News and Today Tonight.”

In other results:

SUNRISE again dominated breakfast television, averaging 31,343 viewers versus Nine’s Today which averaged 21,800 viewers.

THE MORNING SHOW averaged 15,375 viewers against Nine’s Today Extra (9,337).

THE CHASE AUSTRALIA lifted year on year to average 65,566 viewers against Nine’s Hot Seat, which fell to 40,142.

Seven’s locally produced SALIFE television (74,314) and OUT OF THE BLUE (52,815) won the Sunday and Saturday 5.30pm slots – the highest rating locally produced lifestyle and tourism programs.

The third home and away season of the SANFL on SEVEN averaged 28,180 viewers. The 2016 SANFL GRAND FINAL between Sturt and the Woodville-West Torrens averaged 117,209 viewers – enjoying an almost 70% increase in audience year on year.
