SBS Viceland - Programs and Schedules

Yep, the screencap at the Watermarks thread was exactly what I saw.

The final episode will air in September this year. Another program possibly lost from SBS Viceland’s line-up.

Maybe not, as the article states that a daily Vice news show will continue and that there is a show being developed for Hulu.

Any idea when Viceland SD bows out tonight (presumably)?

This is payback for Foxtel not getting the rights to Vice programming three years ago when SBS was awarded this output deal.

Viceland stopped regular programs at about 7am this morning when it began a promotional loop for the changes to SBS’s line up.

Changeover at 1:02

Good stuff!
So is channel 32 still broadcasting in SD?

Yep - at least in Melbourne.

As suspected, no changes on VAST. Channel still exists on 32 in SD and the HD channel we were told to tune to for the last week still doesn’t exist. The website we’ve been told to go to for more information doesn’t mention VAST at all.

No watermarks all day on the SD channels either.

A tweet from a follower in Broken Hill suggests that SBS VICELAND SD is still on-air with content over there too. Maybe SBS has decided that rural/regional viewers should still have access to the SD version, who knows.

Sydney (at least via terrestrial TV) is only getting the couple of promos/retune to 32 messages on a loop.

Same in regional WA. SBS Viceland SD still broadcasting on 32 without a watermark, but 31 is/has always been available unlike VAST.

can confirm here in regional vic sbs viceland is only in hd on 31 and 32 as the world movies coming soon loop

Tasmania is regional. We have the World Movies loop on 32. Viceland SD disappeared sometime between 12.30am and 9am (That’s when I checked the TV).

In Queensland, The Gold Coast has the loop but The Sunshine Coast hasn’t switched over.

Same in the Illawarra, in which SBS Viceland SD is still broadcasting normal programming instead of the World Movies loop.

Lucky this is just a loop. Imagine if it was a launch. Bit messy lol

Viceland still on 31 and 32 in Canberra

Wonder if that’s when they’ll flick the switch to MPEG-4 HD on DVB-T

They would be better off doing it as soon as possible to give people more time to upgrade for day one, if need be.
