Nine had its first Saturday win over Seven in five weeks as both networks had markets that broke away from the national schedule. Nine was up on the previous week with a 2-point network win helped by the top two multichannels 9Go! and 9Gem. Seven slipped by three but had the top rated main channel. ABC was up two to an impressive 22%, 10 was also up one while SBS was unchanged week-on-week.

ABC’s Vera was up slightly reaching the 400k mark as the top entertainment show of the day with its highest audience of this repeat season. It was a similar result for All Creatures Great and Small that was at a season high.

At 6pm Seven News had an easy win though Nine News read by Peter Hitchener was a winner in Melbourne.

Seven’s schedule included the NSW Schools Spectacular at 7pm in Sydney and later in other markets with the Sydney audience helping the show into the top 20. Melbourne saw the Victorian Schools spectacular while other markets received a movie.

Nine’s shows were impacted by the screening of the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols in that market where The Garden Hustle was not shown while Nine’s Christmas movie had a late start time.

Meanwhile, 10’s The Dog House climbed up the ranking up 35k on the previous week. The A-League made the top 20 multichannel rankings including topping the 25-54 demo.

Earlier Weekend Sunrise had its highest Saturday audience since July though Today, that was 65,000 behind, was at a nine-week high for a Saturday.

Foxtel’s exclusive BBL game could only manage 57k.
