Test cricket put in another strong performance for Seven, but it could have been higher without the impact of bad light stopping play towards the end of the day. That eventually saw the game finish prematurely. Nevertheless Seven News scored its second highest Saturday rating of the year only bettered on AFL Grand Final Day. Border Security that followed got a big boost to 646k at 7pm. Seven’s movie Back To The Future averaged 435k, one of the best movie results of the year while The Blues Brothers later had almost 200k.
The first night of main channel coverage of Nine’s summer tennis coverage saw The United Cup average 321k for the night session after the daytime coverage averaged 101k. The Late segment was 75k. 9Go! Delivered good numbers for Nine with a Harry Potter movie.
ABC’s All Creatures Great and Small did well with 567k. That was enough to make the top 10 and be the top scripted program of the day. The Christmas Special then had 500k, well up on the results that Vera repeats normally achieve.
Meanwhile 10’s early movie The Adventures of Tintin had 120k while the later Transformers movie was slightly higher on 137k. Earlier, 10 News First had its highest Saturday rating of 2024.
Weekend Sunrise was just over 400k with the margin to Weekend Today was 140k. Weekend Breakfast had its lowest Saturday result since May.
Saturday was the last day of the ratings year with the 2025 year starting today. Looking forward to bringing you the numbers “next year”.
