Three and a bit hours to go. Can they break last years record of $18,200,000?
I always worry at this time of the night that they won’t but they end up breaking the record each year.

It’s been used on and off over the last 10 years for this Appeal. Heck it could be longer.
This was 2016. The start of this thread.
The Vic Government has announced this evening a $1.5 million donation on top of the $1 million announced this morning. Bringing total donations to $2.5 million.
The green room area looks cool. Understand they can’t have an audience because of Covid. They’re doing their best.
I think they’re doing an alright job too.
Makes you realise the lack of local productions being made in Melbourne at the moment from Seven. Part from the local news and AFL, I don’t think anything is locally based here anymore?
The Front Bar, do they do a local travel show anymore?
The Chemist Warehouse branded show is produced in Melbourne but not by 7 itself.
Currently that’s it. Everything has been axed or moved to Sydney. Bit disappointing for the largest TV market in the country. Hopefully over time it doesn’t bite them in the arse.

12 million donated! GO everyone. Anyone Donated?
9:33pm
Jacqui Felgate has returned to the panel.
Also, Tim Watson, Matthew Richardson, Brian Taylor and James Brayshaw seem to have taken over from Nat and Hamish.
+12 hours after Sunrise finished, Sam Mac still has so much energy, probably even more.
That’s great, but am I being too simplistic in thinking maybe the government should just fund public hospitals more rather than making them put their hand out to a generous public?
Yep, been rounding up my Woolies shops for a few weeks and went for a drive loading up tin rattlers with coins I’ve been putting aside.
What’s with the early finish time this year? First time it’s not gone through until midnight! An extra half hour could’ve raised more $$$
When is the last time they haven’t reached a new record?
1991 & then again in 1992 they come just short of the previous year.
I think the government is helping out this year. It’s clear a lot of Corporate Australia haven’t offered the big cheques that we are use to seeing pre Covid.
They seemed to break the record last year? Mind you, most of those fundraising efforts probably would’ve been done before the effects of the pandemic (such as the huge wave of cases last Winter) really hit hard.
No, it wasn’t televised last year. The Victorian Government also provided the top up $$$ for last years appeal, to match the 2019 record.
