Agree @AustralianAerial, that strange line wasn’t lost on me either. It’s peculiar to say the least and from what I can gather, it’s a line from Tully Sugar’s submission.
ACMA’s external comms staff experience seems to be as equally decimated as the staff in planning and field operations. It’s clear the writer isn’t experienced with such releases and the fundamentals of attribution and quotes.
The network has completed installation of the 93.9FM service at Bunnaloo in the Murray electorate.
This means Moama to Morago, Blighty to Barham and Perricoota to Pretty Pine can hear Flow FM.
This adds to 88.7 coverage north of Berrigan to Jerilderie and 96.9 coverage at Wentworth in the Far South West.
Flow was successful in receiving NSW Government funding for services in Lake Cargelligo which will get coverage into Hillston and to the Wallanthery and Lake Brewster areas.
Meanwhile the eastern/northern Flinders Ranges districts in SA still await the 88.7 Hawker and 101.3 Wilmington services that were approved nearly 10 years ago and are on the ACMA register but for some reason have never made it to air. So to hear they’re expanding rapidly into NSW and VIC while not completing their designated SA coverage is a tad disappointing.
This is of particular significance now that 5AU has left the AM band so basically a moderate to fringe signal of 5CS is all you get in these areas commercial-wise (minus the low powered FM repeaters in the Quorn township).
These maps used to be on their website around 8 years ago. They use to have Vic/nsw on the same map. Shame they are updating them but no longer making them public
You can get some reception of the Bluff FM’s at Yunta
Same at Woomera
5AU’s TX site was ok it never really got out very well due to the ground conductivity, also the transmitters were a bit sad
5CS on the other hand… the building was nearly condemned.
I’d say Grant’s went FM for the extra revenue… its really hard selling AM in a town of mostly FM’s
