Did anyone ever get confused between Telstra Stadium in Sydney and Telstra Dome in Melbourne in the early noughties?

No - but I have an interesting story about that sponsorship, Telstra became key sponsors of the 2003 Rugby World Cup to retain their naming being retained on both stadia during the event.

A little, but these days I have to think more in which is which between Accor Stadium (Homebush) and Allianz Stadium (Moore Park).

There was once upon a time when the (old) Sydney Football Stadium was called Aussie Stadium as well.

In 2004, the Roosters and Bulldogs played their respective NRL preliminary finals at each other’s home grounds; the Roosters made a point of this before that year’s finals series and tried to get it switched around to no avail.

I’ve found myself getting caught by Optus Stadium in Perth and the old Optus Oval ground for AFL. That’s a weird memory that came up when I kept hearing about Optus Stadium.
