What is the point of Australia Post offering parcel tracking, when they don’t even update it?

I ordered an item online from Apple in Sydney last Monday, which shipped that same day.
The Australia Post tracking number I received now hasn’t had any updates since 6:30am Tuesday when it said “Shipping information approved by Australia Post”.

The item was due to be delivered today, but as yet, I have no idea whether it’s even arrived in Townsville yet, as Aus Post haven’t updated the tracking.

Has anyone else had problems with their tracking numbers.
I see no point in providing a tracking service if the information doesn’t get updated for nearly an entire week.

They never update Aus post tracking delivery unless they are scanned in at depot or on schedule for delivery.

Plus Aus post are always slow :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s just hope it did not have any stuff in it

Tends to happen too much these days. If we up here get something that shouldn’t be in this region we generally scan it and send it back to wherever it’s supposed to go (either Underwood facility, Sydney, Melbourne or North). In the recent past there have been instances where we’ve scanned and sent things back (e.g. a parcel addressed to Bundy) yet it didn’t get scanned again when it got back to Brisbane as it should have. They are obsessed with sending things to the postcode written rather than actually reading where it goes, and its now at the point where we have to write the correct postcode on it 10 times to make sure it doesn’t come back.

i don’t have a problem, i swear

Umm, I don’t know how to tell you this, but that to me is a sure sign of a teleholic. How square are your eyes?

I’ve had a look, but I can’t seem to find a thread on USB digital TV receivers, so I thought I’d raise the question here.

Say a regional TV viewer was sick of having to contend with Mappy and Prime7’s slipshod approach to providing an HD channel. Does anyone have recommendations on whether a TV tuner card would be able to pick up metro feeds in the country, or whether there’s a USB-capable device that could do the same thing?

Not overly keen on spending a bomb, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

How far from a metro centre do you live? You could stream using 9Now or Plus7.

A USB or TV tuner card tuner sensitivity to reception aren’t necessarily any different to that of most TVs (though some TVs are more sensitive than others). You’d do need an appropriate antenna and to be close enough to a metro transmitter;

About 200 kilometres from Sydney - Central West NSW. I could stream, but there’s the issue of data usage. I didn’t know whether I could circumvent that issue using a tuner card.

The proximity to a metro transmitter is a problem, as metro broadcasts end at the Blue Mountains and it’s strictly regional territory west of there.

Out of curiosity, how do people manage to record multiple feeds of the same channel across the state/country and upload the side-by-side feed comparisons on YouTube? Does that take specialist equipment?

Not really.

Several members here have managed to find the links to streams for various metropolitan feeds hidden in the 9Now and Plus7 pages, and have then used those links in VLC Media Player or similar software. You can therefore have multiple streams running at once.

I’d imagine it’s not difficult but I’ve never gotten it to work (nor cared enough to figure it out).

As far as I know, streams aren’t geoblocked to their own markets, so it’s possible to watch Seven Perth from Sydney, for example. It’s not possible to watch these streams overseas though, even through VLC. Someone correct me if I’m wrong though.

I do these types of videos frequently.
I record the TV from my home in Townsville and also will have my laptop recording the stream coming through from the metro stations via the m3u8 links.
In addition, I have a TV tuner set up in Mackay at a family members home that I can also set to record remotely.

I then just import each of the individual files into a video editing app, lay them side-by-side, and play them back to ensure I’ve got them aligned properly and then export and upload.

A tuner card or USB stick won’t be of any help. You probably should just log into one of the appropriate live services as provided by the FTA networks but as you say that will eat through your data allowance.

Brilliant, thanks for your help everyone.

The PITA of those streams are that you have to have a large data allowance to receive it and well if you are not using an Oz IP, bad luck.

Thoughts appreciated.

ANGERY

Already tired of it getting reposted over and over on tumblr.

Does anyone here have a bidet? I’m looking for reviews. Seems like a really good idea, what with not needing toilet paper and everything. I’m tossing up between buying a cold water one for $25 or a luxurious warm water one for $50 - both attach to the underside of an existing toilet seat.
