They used to be everywhere in the 90s..
One of my favourite ones was ROX FM on the Mid North Coast of NSW. Given they had two frequencies, they’d have a different frequency for each town so were like this
FM 105.1 ROX Macksville
FM 102.3 ROX Port Macquarie
etc
It had a white background with black text and the ROX bit in red.
Phebe & Dave are two names I haven’t heard in a very long time. Turns out Phebe died a few years back?

3XY did them earlier which aligned to the general slogan “3XY Rocks Melbourne”.
Love the 2x variations of the WaveFM logo in this ad. IMO their best logo was the one with the actual wave in it.
I quite like it. I dub a resident of Wollongong a ‘gongster’, though.

Ah, I didn’t know. I’m just a shade too young to remember 3XY as a rock music station (as a small child I would listen to music on 3DB/3TT) but I do remember 3XY ceasing.
Some people here in Brisbane used to put these stickers on their wheelie bins
In Melbourne, 3KZ stickers were seen on letterboxes. I never listened to 3KZ but it must have been some promotion because they were everywhere.
Oh, I certainly remember those 3KZ stickers. They were the most common of all. “Greater” 3UZ ones also come to mind, too.
That 3AW and WD40 sticker - which actually looks familiar - is dog ugly!!
One of my favourite radio station stickers. If anything screams ‘Melbourne’, it’s a green and yellow tram.
(Now, you’d probably put ‘Pam The Bird’ in its place).
Or a youth with a machete. Next to a stolen car.

I think I may have shared this before, but when I was doing work experience at 3TT in 1988 they’d just taken delivery of a stock of shiny, new Classic Hits 3TT stickers.
One of the announcers (off-air) took one look at it and said rather glumly, “well it’s not exactly ‘I Love Melbourne’, is it??”, referring to the famous and cheerful 3KZ stickers that were all over Melbourne at the time.
I had a flick through some ‘The Age’ Green Guides online to unearth a bit more about the evolution of Melbourne FM radio in the mid to late 80s.
3ABC moved from 105.7 to 105.9 around Aug/Sept 1987 (sadly couldn’t pinpoint when).
3PBS moved from 107.7 to 106.7 in December 1987 (looks like somewhere around Christmas/New Year?)
3MBS moved from 93.7 to 103.5 in early January 1988
As we already know, 3EON moved from 92.3 to 105.1 on 27th November 1988
A lot of dial shuffling to keep up with then!
