Sea FM Gold Coast was the original before the Sea FM network evolved. Think it was also the first commercial FM outside the capital cities.

I believe Mix106.3 and FM104.7 in Canberra were the first FM licences outside the major cap cities (in February 1988). Sea FM Gold Coast came a year later (March 1989) and TTT Hobart came along in July 1990.

I recall that SUN FM in Shepparton was boasting as “Australia’s first inland commercial FM station” when it launched in late 1990. I guess that’s a “first” of some note
