To be fair, it wouldn’t make sense for SEN and RSN to be under common ownership and still have:
- two separate ‘general’ sports breakfast programs airing simultaneously on SEN & RSN; and
- two separate racing preview/analysis programs airing simultaneously on RSN & SENTrack.
Having said that, SEN should have found a way to maintain RSN’s Racing Pulse (which is hosted by Michael Felgate) considering it’s a really good, in-depth racing program.

If that’s the approach, then it wouldn’t make sense for SEN to own RSN if they can’t coexist.
It’s not like SEN can just make RSN into a talk or music station… they must find common ground to coexist with an independent identity.
Doesn’t SENTrack have its own brekkie show? Can they network that rather than the stronger 1116AM shows?
They can (and seemingly will) coexist though with RSN continuing its rolling racing service while SENTrack continues its ‘banter’/chat format (though with the added ability to actually broadcast race calls).
SENTrack currently simulcasts the first two hours of SEN’s breakfast program before Giddy Up begins at 8am.

Daniel Harford and Michael Felgate confirmed among the RSN casualties in SEN takeover
Long-term RSN hosts Daniel Harford and Michael Felgate have been confirmed among the casualties following SEN’s acquisition of the iconic Melbourne racing station.
Addressing the elephant in the room on-air with Felgate this morning, SEN boss Craig Hutchison said the Breakfast with Harf program and Racing Pulse will no longer exist under the new programming line-up.

What a well-handled professional interview by Michael Felgate. How awkward must it be interviewing the man who’s just sacked you.
