Also odd that Sky Racing 2, which has less relevant content and mostly focuses on overflow Aussie races or international cards, is what costs more! Sky 1 and 2 are also on Bet Easy and TAB Touch, but not Thoroughbred Central.
I went to have a look, and it seems like they aren’t there anymore
Some of the sites keep them locked away until you make a deposit.
That shouldnt be an issue - there would have to be $100 in credit there
The USP of Racing, com though is that it’s available through FTA which in turn helps with Racing Victoria’s waging turnover
Racing .com appears to have updated their graphics slightly again. This seems to happen in spring most years.
The mounting yard graphics seem to have slightly more information than before
The lower-third pre-race odds flipper which showed three horses at a time is gone, replaced by a left-side graphic which, like Sky, has numbers but no names. It briefly colour code changes in odds as they come through, and flips between TAB and bookmaker odds.
The ticker shows up occasionally with information about upcoming programming and odds for upcoming races.
In race graphics have only changed slightly
Results graphics have taken on the new style and separated bookmaker odds from TAB odds.
Name super (the gap is due to it starting to animate off when I got the screencap)
Break titlecard
Promo graphics
Looks good. They’ve always had quite sophisticated graphics compared to Sky Racing. Although I’m not a fan of the condensed font seen on the break titlecard and promo super. Doesn’t fit in with anything else they’ve got.
they look great, big improvement, more channel 7 racing graphics
A documentary on the past 30 years of Melbourne Cup on TV will premiere on the channel on October 30, featuring four men who have called the Cups: Bruce McAvaney, Dan Mielicki, Greg Miles and Matt Hill.
There are only 4 people that has called the race that stops a nation on TV in the last 30 years. Mielicki can be heard in harness racing.
Slight correction, there are 4 LIVING men to call over 31 years (Bruce was studio host in 1989 having called his last Cup in 1988). It’s been several years since the passing of Wayne Wilson who was drafted in by 7 in 2002. The call of the cup (Media Puzzle won) wasn’t recieved very well and that relationship lasted just 1 year.
Season 2 of showjumping competition series Jump Off premieres on racing.com on November 17.

The channel is broadcasting ITV’s coverage of Royal Ascot racing carnival from England this week, but it hit technical problems overnight when day one of the carnival was on air.
Sky Sports Radio and Radio TAB were playing music to fill in the long gaps and just fading it down a bit when someone did talk, then back up.
The feed which was used for the first 1/2 hour before the ITV coverage could be joined was really bad - there were long periods of static shots and silence
Reminds me of my most favouritist overnight shift of all time at Prime when Seven were sent an incorrect feed of Gaelic Football and couldn’t get in touch with anyone in Ireland to get it fixed. They got the stadium OB feed instead of the studio feed, so started with a shot of a bloke staring at the camera waiting to be interviewed, and then the camera was put down!
About 40 minutes in, and many technical difficulties fillers and half a standby program (we played most of an episode of According To Jim on Prime straight off tape because I remembered that tape had no breaks in the episode so was the least hassle to insert during the chaos…we gave up following Seven’s lead because they were too busy to tell us what they were doing and we had only one operator looking after 7mate) later, the commentators finally spoke “Thank you Michael, yes that’s right!”
Half time was as much of a mess with no way of telling if the bloke staring at the camera knew he was on air or not. Seven took those one-sided chats, Prime did not. Post-match coverage was abandoned.
Perth took it on delay so was able to be tidied up significantly by cutting out about an hour of non-match nightmare. But fixing up the schedule afterwards to fill time was painful.
Saw Matthew Campbell representing CrownBet the other night on a show with Jason Richardson, with a rival guy from Sportsbet next to him in the studio. Haven’t seen/heard him in years!
Does Matty still work for Fox Sports, calling the AFL, he did it for many years? Are CrownBet still Fox Footy’s wagering partner and therefore does he still appear doing that on there too?
He used to be Sportsbet’s bloke, going back over a decade, regularly on 10’s AFL coverage during ad breaks and would appear at the MCG live during Grand Finals.
Used to play for the old Brisbane Bears for those with a good memory.

Martin will step down from Racing.com’s board this month as the media company switches from a joint venture between Racing Victoria and Seven to a commercial partnership. Documents were lodged with ASIC on Tuesday to cease Seven’s direct involvement with Racing.com.
Martin said the media company was in a position to flourish under Racing Victoria’s full control…which was a key piece in the negotiations that secured Seven a five-year extension on its media rights deal with RV.
