Huh?

Allowing people to touch on/off with a bank card isn’t going to suddenly erase Myki. London’s had bank card payments for over a decade, Sydney just over 5, yet their travel cards are still the popular payment method.

Same in Brisbane, Go Card is still the preferred method AFAIK.

Was a joke matešŸ˜€

Anyway to your point it would be great to have bank card touch in and touch off would make it easier.

Full service resumed on Brisbane’s train network today, following a couple of days of urgent repairs as the result of damage caused by ex-Cyclone Alfred. Replacement buses are still running between Ipswich and Rosewood.

Coalition matches Labor’s $1b cash splash for landmark Western Sydney Airport rail links

The Coalition has promised to match Labor’s $1 billion investment into public transport for Western Sydney Airport.

Shadow treasurer Angus Taylor told reporters in Sydney that in regards to the under construction rail line from St Marys down to the airport and Bradfield ā€œwe need to see it going south, and we’ll back continuing to spend to do that, because it absolutely needs to happenā€.

The government on Thursday said it was ā€œfuture-proofing the transport links for a growing Western Sydney, locking in a future rail connection between Leppington and the new Bradfield City Centreā€.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed the infrastructure project at the Airport City Summit 2025, as it comes on top of the $1 billion promised in January for road upgrades in Western Sydney.

ā€œI’m pleased to announce today that a re-elected Albanese government will (be) investing $1 billion to preserve land corridors,ā€ Mr Albanese said.

ā€œThis comes in addition to our joint commitment with the NSW government to deliver a billion dollars for 15th Avenue.ā€

Last Thursday Newcastle Bus drivers called a snap strike after a series of assults on drivers

It only lasted an hour ir two but still made me pivot to drive to the game rather than get the shuttle buses.

I can’t blame them for it.

Victorian Department of Transport has announced changes to V/Line services on Ballarat, Ararat, Bendigo and Warrnambool lines, effective from Easter long weekend.

The end of loco hauled N-Sets on the Warrnambool line on March 31st. Then from April 14th they’ll be squished onto 3 car V/Los.

That just leaves Swan Hill and a couple of Geelong services with N-sets. Talking of which, several sets are being retired and cancellations of Swan Hill services are happening all too often due to ā€œTrain Faultsā€. Pretty poor form by V/Line.

I wonder if SA will ever get a Hills/Eastern suburbs rail line or even a tram line for the inner east? At the moment all corridors from north to south to west is covered, only east is still bus or nothing.

At least extend the tram line back to Norwood or maybe take it further to somewhere like Kensington, Burnside or Glen Osmond etc.

Pretty much an announcement of nothing. They’re reserving rail corridors that are already reserved.

What would actually make a difference is building the line to Aldinga that’s been talked about for years and reopening the closed lines to new housing developments north of Gawler.

doubt it, the land acquisition will be insane and I don’t know if there’s a call for it.
Labor did once pledge a tram up Norwood Parade but they lost that election.

Extending the Belair line would be all we’d seen that side of the city I reckon.

That will also mean level crossings on the Gawler line will need to be either removed or grade separated to ensure more frequent commuter trains can run.
