Monday 10 November

The longest government shutdown in US history looks set to end, but not everyone’s happy. Chas and John discuss the fallout and last week’s election backlash against Trump. Plus former Speaker Nancy Pelosi retires.

Something to add to this: from the latest episode of PEP, Chas has hinted that it looks likely they will go back to one weekly episode next year, at least until the cycle ramps up towards the midterm elections.

They should be bringing it back sooner as by then Columbia, Cuba, Mexico and even Greenland could be occupied.

MONDAY 2 FEBRUARY 9.45PM

Planet America returns in 2026 as Donald Trump’s presidency steamrolls into its second year and a deeply divided America celebrates its 250ᵗʰ birthday.

US voters will again head to the polls for the midterm elections … will Trump’s Republicans hold on to their majority in Congress? And if not, will Trump face investigations or an impeachment?

Buckle up for another wild ride with Chas Licciardello and John Barron as the long campaign to become America’s 48ᵗʰ President gets underway.

They’ll need a movie length show from all the crap that’s been happening.

John and Chas have joked in the past that whenever they take holidays, is when something big happens in the world of U.S. Politics. No different this time. lol.

They should have returned earlier than the February start.

Can the federal agents who killed Minnesota protestors Alex Pretti and Renee Good be charged with murder? Plus Trump’s approval rating sinks as he rewrites the rules in Venezuela and threatens an attack on Greenland and Iran.

I notice that the Weekend Edition is not on ABC News Channel’s schedule tonight, so it’s just Mondays now.

Could it be due to budget issues?

Yep, just the Monday editions for now. It was previously discussed on PEP towards the end of last year:

In all likelihood, making two shows a week was probably unsustainable on a consistent basis.

Monday 9 February

Trump calls for Americans to “move on” as Democrats pledge to fight an Epstein files “cover-up”. Also the Trump family crypto scandal the world has hardly noticed, plus the President’s rare backdown on his racist Obama post.

ABC has confirmed this will return in August when mid-term elections ramp up.
